I guess, but the fact is he was found guility in the civil lawsuit ($33M) and he will never pay a cent to the Vicitims Families. As for the Kids I bet they will see very little of the proceeds. OJ is simply using them to ensure he does not lose any of the proceeds. Of course thats my opinion.

Yah, OJ was never on the stand. I watched CNN and they said the only way he could be charged is if he admitted he was guilty. Of course he never will.

los angeles, mid-1990s, would have the recent LA riots in the immediate conciousness.

the fix was in, the jury was probably told privately, 'let him go'.

they had this verdict on tv's in many schools in the poor black areas, kids watching it live would have so keyed up that deaths would have for sure resulted from the chaos.

that's my take - trial got too huge, became something they had to let 'the black man' have.

Wasn't the jury also predominantly black? That may have also played a part in his acquital.
