Definitely agree, I couldn't put that book down when I read it, it might be my favourite book that I've ever read.
For Hemingway I'll add In Our Time, which is a great collection of short stories.
And as long as we're into the lost generation, I thought Tender is the Night by F Scott Fitzgerald was an interesting read

Hmm... a fellow traveler?

I haven't read Tender is the Night. I'll have to check that out. I was a fan of Gatsby a long time ago, but I haven't ranged too far afield in Fitzgerald.

I'm into Kenneth Fearing at the moment--The Big Clock, Dagger of the Mind--both good reads, and the former was made into a movie. I'm also a fan of Dos Passos, from around the same time period--the U.S.A. trilogy is fantastic.

Also really liked Shake Hands With The Devil

For fiction:
I just finished a book called The Effect Of Living Backwards that was good and I'm reading a good one right now called I, Lucifer.
We are currently filming I, Lucifer based on Glen Duncan's best seller. Ewan McGregor plays Declan Gunn and Daniel Craig plays Lucifer. Should be good.

As far as good books are concerned i liked FHM's 100 hottest girls. :P
