I have a swell Dick Tracy book with complete daily newspaper cartoon series from the 1920's, 30's and 40's, which is why Rich Preston now has the nickname "Mumbles" at Calgarypuck.

I love Turner Classic Channel and watching old, old black and white movies from the 20's, 30's and 40's . . . . the plots are almost irrelevent (although there are good movies in those era's) versus what they're driving, wearing, how they talk, the slang they use . . . . . the whole game.

Cow, do you like Old Western TV shows too? Did you read the news RE: Have Gun, Will Travel remake?? Brutal!!!

Oh, another thing I enjoy is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, not sure if that is an obscure thing or not?

I am a real sucker for Christmas. I love everything about it, the music, the food, decorations. I really love searching for old Christmas Cartoons from the early 80's when I was a kid. I still watch all the Christmas cartoons, like I am 6 again. Pathetic - I am aware!

Never heard that term to be honest. I know there is a Calgary Urban Explorers club that is into this type of thing - been considering lately looking into what they do and if I want to join.

Maybe it's like the creepy crawlies Charles Manson and his crew used to do?

I did this for a while and I was really into, not in Calgary however so I am not sure about this club. It can either be very, very cool (abandoned subway lines, underground tunnels linking buildings, roofs of buildings etc) or it can be very, very disgusting (some people who are into this have a positively UNHEALTHY obsession with sewers). There is usualy an element of danger and the posibility of being arrested as well, which clearly adds to the excitement. But if there is in fact a club in Calgary, I would recommend hooking up with them, as they will show you some good routes to start with and give you some hints on safety etc.

For me this madness started with an interest in abandoned buildings as well, so it seems like that might just be the natural progression into UE.

Ah, good call... I'm always googling the latest news on organized crime in the Lower Mainland, Toronto and Alberta.

Yes! The reason why I started this thread is revealed.. to find out if anyone shared my love of Exo-Squad!

I think Professor Algernon was just scientist though, who worked for the Neo's and then the humans.

I hope I'm not turning into a nerd, but do you have any links to/about Exo Squad? How's 'bout YouTube?

Count me in as well. And like Jiri, I like some of the obscure stuff........like Trans-X 'Living On Video'.......if that song doesn't sum up 80's music, I don't know what does.

Yeah that site's pretty cool - the only thing about those guys is how they call themselvs "agents' and refer to "missions" and what not. Seems a bit odd to me. I just want to check out old ****, don't want to be callin myself "Agent Lame-o" or anything.

80's music.. I love it too. Had it on the 80's station on the XM in the truck this afternoon... I'm almost afraid to admit it.. but when Heat of the Moment by Asia came on.. I perked up and turned the volume way up.

Yes yes.. "you know how I know you're gay".

Cowperson doesn't like western movies, it reminds him too much of his childhood. The 1800's where a rough time for the young Charlton.

That would count I'm sure, it would be interesting to see if anyone trains BJJ like you.

I got you beat by a mile.

I turn it up when Erasure "A Little Respect" comes on.

Now THAT is full on gay.

Good song, though.

No no no! Progressive rock, one of my favorite genres, was at its peak during the 1980s. I actually just bought Asia's latest disc. I still can't believe they're together...musically, they haven't changed that much. I also really like the Alan Parsons Project and a little bit of Yes.

I heard "Voices" by Russ Ballard the other day on XM Radio Channel 8 and I couldn't believe how good it is. That's the first time I heard it in years. It reminds me of Peter Gabriel's creepy song "Intruder".

80's music seems to be a common weakness here...scary stuff kids...As for me, when somebody popped Journey's "Separate Ways" on here I played it for weeks...
TransX is good and all, but for true 'gayism' doesn't Frankie Goes to Hollywood (esp the obscure stuff like Two Tribes) trump?

I am a Discovery Channel nut. I love to watch stories about people and civilizations from the past.
Also I am a freak about ancieant Greece, love to read about it and learn about how it all unfolded.
