Oh wait, that would be illegal . . . . . except in Tennessee.

Ahem....that would be West Virginia.

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros - Streetcore

Though it is the best album of the Mescaleros, everytime I listen to it I get depressed.

Global a GoGo is superb.

Nick Cave - Murder Ballads
You sick bas**rd!!!

Actually, I was listening to that one just last week--I generally get it out about once a year. A couple of listens to it and I start to really get into it, and then I get freaked out and have to put it in the bottom of a box somewhere for a while.

Anyway, for me right now:

Scissor Sisters -- wonderfully fun Village-Peoplesque rock, a great roadtrip album. although I'm annoyed how quickly they've become mainstream already. They were on Conan about a month ago, which is okay; but my girlfriend says that last week they were on Regis and Kathy, which is not okay.
Sufjan Stevens -- Seven Swans -- a strange, moody, but somewhat spiritual songwriter in the Elliott Smith style.
Rheostatics -- music inspired by the Group of Seven -- probably the strangest and most beautiful thing they've ever recorded.

Haha, my mom grew up in Arkansas. I have a ton of family there still (I don't claim all of them).
