Why do people insist on feeding the trolls?
White doors contributes nothing to this forum other than facile one liners that muddy debate. He doesn't even participate in the flames forum.
Be clear here: White Doors is a fool, replying to him is a waste of everyone's time.

I think they are a bunch of incompetent crooks, but I agree with this.
One thing I've always wondered about is if they are really fascists/Nazis then how come they are getting criticized so mercilessly from pretty much all corners? The major media of 1930s Germany wasn't allowed to pound away on Hitler all day. Real fascists would have the media under control.

You think the media is pounding on Bush? Dude, not even close. If the media were really pounding on Bush he would be impeached and up on war crimes charges. This administration has fabricated evidence that has launched one war (possibly two) that has lead to the deaths of tens of thousands (some say hundreds of thousands). They have stomped all over the constitution and passed laws that go against the constitution and the past rulings of the supreme court. There is more scandal surrounding this administration than any other in American history. If the media was doing their job they would have this guy run out of office by now. Fact of the matter is that are very soft on this guy and promote much of what he wants promoted. The corporate media are in bed with the government, providing high cover and not focusing the kleig lights where they should be.

You don't think american media is firmly under control?
You should read the book 'The Hitler Myth'. Hitler's popularity in the early 30s was VERY similar to the popularity of George W. Bush. This isn't to say bush is going to go out and gas 6 million people of a particular ethnicity, but the evidence is there, and it is congruent.
How could he possibly have maintained a 45 percent approval rating or higher for 4 years in which he started two 'go-nowhere' wars, increased the national debt, etc etc.
And bingo, instead of complaining about how you think comparisons to nazi germany are overblown and dramatic, maybe you could illuminate us as to why that is?

You can't have it both ways. If they were truly in bed with the government we wouldn't even know about the scandals.
Body counts, prison scandals, tortures -- if the government controlled the media we wouldn't know about any of this stuff.
I agree though that they have been too soft on the administration and we definitely haven't heard everything yet, but there is too much bad news and outright criticism of the government to believe that they are in control.

Okay, how about 2/3 of the media is in bed with the government, and the other 1/3 is busy trying to filter the BS from the real news? NewsCorp and Clear Channel are seriously in bed with the administration. There is no two ways about it. They are nothing but a propaganda organ for the neo-conservative agenda. And why not, it makes them gobs and gobs of money. The other 1/3 of the media is scrambling to cover the news and get some truth out there. They must some how filter all the BS and figure out what is true and what is propaganda (the Bush admin has been caught several times inserting propaganda into the mainstream media). Then they must defend themselves from the attacks of the other "media" outlets. It's all a game and makes the news less and less reliable.
Again, if the media were doing their job, Bush would be impeached and up on war crimes charges. The fact that this dufus and his administration of mercenary vampire bats gets any positive coverage is beyond me. They have dragged the flag of this nation through the mud and sullied the reputation of America to the point where it will take generations for it be restored. The media is supposed to provide oversight for the people, and they are grossly derilect in their duties. When the people needed the media the most, they fell in line and joined the goose step all over our civil liberties. Sadly, now that the damage is done, they find the where-with-all to point out the evil in the actions of this administration.

I'm pretty sure they signed up to be soldiers in defense of freedom and democracy, not agents of a regime that tortures suspects in secret prisons. I don't think their government's suspension of habaes corpus was something they had in mind when they enlisted.

I'm sure they did not see that coming but, the rest of the world did...
Americans have been asleep at the wheel for the last 50 years as the American Military Industrial Complex has lulled them into blind patriotism.
I'm sure nobody in the Tillman house thought to question the motives of the American government...Until it was too late.
I hope the Tillman's can continue took use their popularity to voice their concerns to the jaded American media.

No doubt -- they have been derelict, but I just don't think they were controlled. "In bed with the government" sounds like something sinister. I don't think it was sinister though, just stupid. And greedy -- you pointed out it was easy to make money by towing the party line. Also they were giving the people what they unfortunately wanted.

Right, and that's why I don't think they were controlled -- because they have turned on them.
I think we are just arguing semantics here anyway.

Yeah well he was banned for one comment in particular that was over the line and ignorant. I leave it to you to figure out which one.

Fair enough... I won't tell you how to do your job, but its my belief that he adds a whole lot more to this board than the person he was commenting on, one comment over-the-line or not. I assume he got a warning or something that he was going too far?
