Heineken is also my favourite beer. I am also a big fan of Becks.
I was a big Corona drinker a while back, but over the summer I changed to Becks/Heineken.

I enjoy Keiths the most out of any North American beer. I guess everyone has there own likes and dislikes.
While we are on the beer subject. Anyone notice that beer is being served more and more watered down than ever. The crap I had last night tasted a lot like water. Not a very good thing. That is why I always order bottles. You know it will be good beer even though it costs a buck or two more.

It's tough spending 6 bucks on one beer when I can buy a 6-pack of Alberta Genuine Draft for about 6 bucks.

I need to retry Moosehead (been a while). Becks is good. Heineken is a little skunkish (more-so than Keiths I think). Stella tastes very...dunno. I like it on occasion, but it kinda tastes...alcoholic-like (as if you can taste spirits or Vodka in it). People rag on me for paying $2.95 for a bottle of Czechvar....it's a 500mL bottle, and it's very very much better than anything you get at a bar here.

I can't even afford to pre-drink. The joy of paying off the student loan...

All I know is that if I have draft beer, I'm wicked hung over the next day even if I only have 1 or 2. If I drink out of the bottle, I can knock back a dozen and be fine the next day.
But it is getting expensive to go out for a drink, especially on weekends. If my wife and I go out for dinner at a mid level restaurant, and both have drinks with our meal and if we get an appetizer or desert, we're looking a $70 tab most nights. If we don't have drinks we can go to a nicer restaurant with good service and a proper chef and spend less. It's crazy.
I think from now on if I want to drink, it will be in houses. I make decent money, but I no longer have the urge to spend it stupidly. Been there, done that, and hate myself for doing it now.

With Beer i usually get Moosehead,Bigrock or Sleeman's honey ale. If those aren't in the cards grab a 6 of blue. Hard stuff i like going with rum and coke.

Totally agree. I put it in the same category as Molson and Labatt.

I change beers every so often, but my favorite is Grasshopper and Traditional. At the moment, I'm on a bit of a "Brahma" kick. Not bad beer.

If you guys want a cheap beer that tastes fairly good try Brewhouse. Depending where you go it is usually about $1 per beer and it is pretty much Kokanee or Canadian in a different can. It's brewed in Saskatoon and it is fine cheap beer. Only places I have seen it are Safeway and Superstore liquor stores.

I always have a fun time at the Den!!! I miss that place so much. That is the one part of University that I miss the most.
Lots of girls, cheap beer, never any fights, and going to my 8 am class hung over.

Big Rock McNally's Reserve for the win.
Pilsner Old Style. I can taste the Union.
Big Rock Traditional Ale. Few things on the planet beat a cold trad and flames game.
Bowen Island Traditional Ale. Delicious.
Granville Island Brewery makes a good lager and pale ale too.

I refuse to drink Moosehead because of a certain Halifax based hockey team (would be like drinking the beer the Oilers or Canucks were named after).
On a serious note I do hate Moose Light, and Canadian draught is God aweful in my opinion, I'll spend the extra dollar or two and get something else on tap (Keith's if they have it... if not Blue/Coors/etc)

The pre-drink is an absolute necessity if you plan on getting sufficiently liquored. The more extreme measure is the pre-drink/skip-dinner tandem. Then you are really in for a wild ride.
As for expensive booze, the bar is bad enough, but what really gets me is that formerly cheap beer, such as Pil and Old Millie, are now upwards of $10 a six pack. It's practically (or is) the same price as "premium" cheap beer like Canadian and Budweiser.
Lucky for me I like Lucky Extra and that is still just more than a buck a can and it comes in very convenient "15 packs". It is a real stinger though when I have to buy "good beer" because someone else is going to be drinking it with me. Buying Coronas or Heinekens is like doubling the price for less beer. Sure it tastes better, but that is hardly the point.
