Poor EbGames lost a lot of business by actually sticking to the street date, they called me at 7PM to mention the promotion tomorrow, $10 off. I told them thanks but you'll have to refund my credit card becuase I already picked it up at WalMart.

I hate giving money to WalMart, but hey.

Rent both and make your decision. One thing I never do regarding games is let people make a decision for me because what they like about the game I might not like.

Well... it looks like NHL 07 is reviewing much better than NHL 2K7, I will get both.

Haven't gotten a single one yet. I usually get tripping, since I like to use poke as a defensive maneuver a lot.

What's irking me are the controls. Again I cannot use Ctrl or Shift or Alt.... Finding it hard to adapt. Hopefully they come out with the same utility that let's me use em.

Oh, and I didn't think it was possible for the menu's to actually be worse than before. Somehow they managed to prove me wrong.

In a full game the controls sure feel different.. this is going to take some getting used to. I won my first game 3-2, but lost the second 0-1 in OT on a stupid giveaway. And I usually get only half the # of shots the other team does (thank goodness for Mikka).

I think I am going to get NHL 2K7 first... a lot of people are saying there are problems with NHL 07.

You were probably going to do so regardless. What problems are you talking about? I'm not having any.

Weird penalties being called, horrible menus, control being difficult in actual gameplay (as opposed to shootout), crappy dynasty mode, horrible AI... that is what I have heard about thus far.

And... I was considering buying both at the same time but I think I will just buy 2K7 and rent 07.

The only thing that sticks out to me is the difficulty... but i'm getting better. The A.I. is fine. This is a first release of a brand new game engine. There will be flaws.

Dynasty is great IMO and the menu's are extremely easy to navigate so I don't really know where that's coming from.

I think alot of the people (I'm talking about in general, not on here) are either too lazy to fool around with the sliders or they came in not wanting to like it more than 2k7 so they're giving up after only a few games. Even in past EA hockey games I've found although I cant get perfect slider settings I can atleast get acceptable settings.

might be the way I play I guess, but I played the Sharks and I swear they must have had like 10 high sticking penalties and atleast 3 of them were away from the play.

weird penalties have always been called in both series. Either weird penalties or none called at all.

Control is not difficult in gameplay...it just has a learning curve. I've spent 15 years playing the game one way and now it's completely different. It has a 10-20 full game learning curve.

Dyansty mode...i haven't looked into it yet but the reviews I;ve seen says the Dynasty mode is excellent.

AI...you know people like the think 2k AI is miles better. But it really isn't. It's just different AI problems. But the problems are there and after 4 years of playing the 2k series they are glaringly obvious to me. I want something different so I went with the new control scheme.

The release date was yesterday. The problem is that many stores only get it at their central distribution centers on the release date and it takes an extra day (or two) to get it to store shelves.
