Our basement is unfinished and his sandbox is down there (since our yard is also unfinished and I'm sure the weeds would trap and consume our son). He LOVES going down there, and when we got that coloured sand from Home Depot he literally flipped out. I think that day was when he learned to say red, blue, and green.

Haha. Awesome stories.

My son is also obsessed with feeding the ducks in the park right now. Except he doesn't call them ducks, he calls them "kack kacks". He literally sprints right at them yelling "KACK KACK" and rifling mitt-fulls of dried bread at them. The ducks and geese scatter like he is throwing hand grenades. Atta boy!

That's awesome. So much like my daughter too.

My daughter actually chases after birds that are so high in the sky you can barely see them. "Birdie in da sky!!!!!!!!!" She's also tried chasing airplanes. It's pretty funny to watch.

I was jogging through Stanley Park the other day, and I saw a young kid (7 or 8) by the river tossing rocks at ducks. His dad kept telling him to stop, he didn't, and when he lured a duck in close and hurled a rock at it, the duck flew out of the water and attacked him.

He immediately starts to wail, I'm laughing at him, and so is his dad. It was probably one of the funnier "I told you so" moments I've had.

Frank: you need to watch out for those little *******s. I've been attacked my nesting geese on the golf course, and they're plain MEAN when you get too close.

Google "It's all gone Pete Tong" and "badger".

Better yet, rent the movie. It's hilarious.

Good thread.

One possible solution to your predicament: Get a Thomas pin that you can put on whichever shirt he wears. It might take him a while to convince that this is a good thing however.

All of my kids went through phases like these. My eldest who's now 8 loved Thomas growing up. He's more into Harry Potter and the Titanic now though.

My 20 year old daughter loves Dora. Smart move by the producers of that show to introduce "Diego" for the boys.....

Bingo's story about announcing his son pretty much sums up our backyard all of the time. I have to announce the two boys then do a Peter Maher play by play of them playing ball hockey, complete with "Yeah Baby's" if they score a nice goal! Peter doesn't get paid enough, that's all I've got to say.........
