Considering a move to California

Well.. I had another interview tonight. This company sounds really interesting and they seem really interested in me. They're flying me down to meet with them in early September.

I LOVE life in Calgary, I don't know if I'd be ready to move. This was the first job I applied for when I decided to start looking for a new job. I'm still kind of in shock at how fast all this is happening. It's been a week and I have the prospect of nearly doubling my salary.

Once you have your HI-B, you can begin the green card process in parallel. It took me about 2.5 years to get me green card, but that was before 9/11. I work with a lot of people from India and it looks like green cards are taking 5 - 6 years to be processed.

fotze is right. There is no harm in trying it out. If it is not for you, there is plenty of work in Calgary that you could do.

I haven't read the whole thread so I don't know if this has been answered...

but have you ever tried living anywhere other then Calgary? While it could make you appreciate Calgary more then you'd think- you'll learn and grow more a lot more by leaving as well... besides you can always come back.
