I don't think you've had much experience in dealing with drunks. The drunks I've dealt with are much easier to deal with when sober and are actually able to think and reason. After a few too many, not so much and they often get on a one tract mind, repeating over and over again and becoming wilder in their opinions of whatever is picking their anger that evening. With Israel in the news, it's easier for drunks to get in that mindset, whether they know anything on the subject or not, they need to vent. I know i've mad an ******* of myself when drunk and said and done things that I wouldn't sober. I'm not letting drunks off, they made the decision to get drunk and if they break the law they should pay but to take a drunks ravings as how they truely feel, is foolish in my opinion.

Funny... right when Aetheism started to 'catch on' science started to 'catch on' as well. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that decreasing religiosity is a result of increased knowledge of this world, space, and time. God doesn't cause apples to fall from trees, now that we know that, its a different 'reality' than what used to exist. Gravity makes them fall.

Sure, but do you change your core beliefs when you're drunk? Become a bigot where sober you're not? That would seem really, really odd. I've seen plenty of my friends wasted drunk, and none of them have 'turned bigoted' because they were drunk. They're the same person, they just lack self-control. Just like Mel; he's the same guy, just at that point he wasn't keeping his beliefs to himself, he was shouting them out to the cops.
Plus, he wasn't wasted drunk. His blood alcohol (especially for an alcoholic) was pretty low. You start yelling racist remarks after 4 beers?

You know what really upsets me about all this, is the fact that Jay Leno is now going to do Mel Gibson jokes for the next 5 years. I flipped through the channels last night and stopped on the tonight show, and he did a freakin Michael Jackson joke.

I heard a great quote from the media somewhere along the lines of "How do you decide between beer 1 and beer 2 that the Protocols of the Elders are Zion are the God-given truth?"

That is an interesting point with some validity. Margaret Atwood made the same point Sunday on the excellent Faith and Reason series on PBS:
BILL MOYERS: Atheism is a religion?
MARGARET ATWOOD: Absolutely.
BILL MOYERS: You mean it's dogmatic?
MARGARET ATWOOD: Absolutely dogmatic.
BILL MOYERS: How so?
MARGARET ATWOOD: Well it makes an absolute stand about something that cannot be proven.
BILL MOYERS: There is no God.
MARGARET ATWOOD: You can't prove that.
BILL MOYERS: So you become-- what' a strict agnostic?
MARGARET ATWOOD: A strict agnostic says, you cannot pronounce, as knowledge, anything you cannot demonstrate. In other words if you're going to call it knowledge you have to be able to run an experiment on it that's repeatable. You can't run an experiment on whether God exists or not, therefore you can't say anything about it as knowledge. You can have a belief if you want to, or if that is what grabs you, if you were called in that direction, if you have a subjective experience of that kind, that would be your belief system. You just can't call it knowledge.

I suppose atheism is dogmatic, but it does not seem like religion to me, and has none of the other trappings.

Haha this reminds me of that Southpark episode where Mel Gibson goes crazy, "The passion of the Jew". That episode actually touched what people are saying that that movie was anti-semetic and made a very good point saying the watching a guy get tortured for 2 hours is not a good movie.
It captured excatly what I was thinking, cause everyone was saying what a amazing movie, then I watched it. I honestly didn't get it. Mel your a crazy *******. Thats all I got.

Heheh yeah I loved the quote (paraphrasing): That wasn't a movie, that was a snuff film! I just paid 8 bucks to watch a snuff film!
Which is kinda the point I had about that movie? Was it made to enlighten and strength faith? Or was it made to shock, and bring out guilt and fear in people?
Besides, Jesus was hardly the only person ever to be tortured and die for another person. And probably not even close to the most gruesome or painful ever.

This will be forgotten - we may not see Mel in a movie but he will be behind many movies.

Yeah, but this seems to be sticking for whatever reasons. Maybe the war, maybe Jewish influence, maybe he deserves it?

Michael Jackson is a different story than Mel Gibson..
Also Mel has a lot of power in the hollywood scene. This news will be pretty much gone in less than 2/3 weeks. He will just have to get a jewish mistress. Is that cosher?

It's Kosher. He is going to have to kiss ass and apologize to lots people in Hollywood. Hollywood has a very big Jewish community.

Heh, Rob Schneider...
Not saying he, or anyone else of Jewish heritage doesn't have a right to be ****ed off. Just that, I doubt this will have any sway whatsoever.
I mean, it's Rob Schneider

Reading that shameless pluggery made me think of South Park!
Rob Schneider derp de derp. Derp de derpity derpy derp. Until one day, the derpa derpa derpaderp. Derp de derp, da teedily tum.
From the creators of Der, and Tum Ta Tittaly Tum Ta Too, Rob Schneider is Da Derp Dee Derp Da Teetley Derpee Derpee Dumb. Rated PG-13.
