Regardless, a lot has changed in the last 15+ years. Banada Republic, like virutally every mass clother, has raised their prices AND lowered their quality. Call it the Walmart effect, call it globalization, but whatever you call it you are getting ripped off...

I'm gonna go home to check the labels on my BR stuff...I can't recall where its actually made. I agree with you that it can be overly priced, but some of their clothes are indeed very nice, both in style and quality, in my eyes anyways. I can only judge from personal experience but most of the Banana Republic stuff I've bought (most of which was reasonably priced and bought on sale) i'm very happy with, and are among the best looking and long lasting parts of my wardrobe. But I will actually take up your challenge. I need some new clothes, so I will go look at this JOE stuff at superstore, and then compare it to similar stuff at Banana Republic and buy accordingly. I have a really hard time believing JOE is right there with BR in terms of quality or style, but if it is, I'll start buying that instead.
