Default Here we go again

Just finished in kitchen, making the Japanese sauce again. thought I,d try it again after my last message this morning. I,m thinking my be I did something wrong, after the last 5 times I tryed. I got all the ingredients ready, roated the seeds just right, Mixed every thing, and did just as it said. Itttttttt is way too salty again, its brown,I seem to think it was more pink at the Village, this is bugging the hell out of me. I what that recipe so bad. I can,t believe you think it right. If I add less soya sauce to make it not as salty, then the recipe is not right.

this is fun.

I found this recipe about a year ago on some blog through google. Actually the one I found seemed to be a bit different from this one, it didn't mention sesame seeds for one. The taste was a little off too.

I'll try this one too. I wonder if this sauce would be a good one for jerky brine? Somebody try it and report back!

If you used half the oil and half the sauce, and the recipes got better, how can it be the right recipe. What soya sauce is it, someone said you MUST use Kikkoman. I used Kikkoman, now you say it my be the wrong kind.

Here is a similar recipe that I use

1/3 cup sesame seeds lightly browned
1/2 cup japanese soy sauce (Tamari or Shoyu) - you can find it at Superstore
1/4 cup sweet sake or mirin
red pepper flakes if you like some heat

I should say that I've only had japanese sesame steak sauce from other restaurants, and this one tastes the same

Also, if you are lazy like me, you can use tahini instead of sesame seeds. It is sesame paste that you use to make hummous. Tastes the same and can be found in the ethnic food aisle or Greek/Middle Eastern speciality food shops

Ok I made the Japanese Village stuff and it tasted pretty good, only used a 1/2c of soy sauce and oil.

The only thing is that a couple hours later it caused intense colon blow diarhea. I've usually got an iron gut and I eat spicy/rich food all the time so it suprised me. Maybe it's because I followed it off with a big bowl of ice cream? I'm afraid to use the rest of the sauce.

Yeah I splattered the bowl pretty good. I don't know why this stuff caused it though, like I said I've got a pretty strong gut. Maybe it's all the soy sauce? I've never splattered the bowl after going to jap village.
