Third period action about to get underway...
Panthers start Modano at centre with Holik and Satan on the wings and Visnovsky and Blake on the points....
Rangers counter with their #1 line, Steve Reinprecht centering Chris Drury and Cory Stillman with Niinimaa and Tarnstrom on the blueline.
Fraser at centre ice...motions the teams to take their places....checks with Roloson...then Nabakov....Modano and Reinprecht drop sticks to the ice.....the puck drops to start the 3rd period!!!

Off the faceoff Satan seems to have pulled a muscle and skates gingerly to the Florida bench,
Brind'Amour jumps over the boards taking his place.
Modano dumps the puck in and quickly the rest of the Panthers 4th line jumps onto the ice.
Brind'Amour races into the Rangers zone and tosses the puck around the end boards to a waiting Mark Savard,
Savard dipsy doodles on the right boards and flips the puck back to Mike Rathje at the blueline.
Rathje fires a hard wrister at the net and from the stick side Brind'Amour races to the front of the net....
Brindy gets his stick down on the ice just as the point shot makes it through and deflects the puck high over Rolosons shoulder....
and
SCORES!!!!!!!
3-2 Rangers , Panthers goal at 46 seconds of the 3rd period!
Period 3
5. PANTHERS, BRIND'AMOUR 6 (RATHJE, SAVARD), 00:46

The play gets chippy,
Both teams play it close to their vest,
Defence is tough and play along the boards is tougher.
Both coaches hold their teams back...waiting...waiting for the break...the chance to break the camels back...or the shot to tie up the game.
The crowd of 19 people are tense....nothing can be heard except for the groans of a few people and the noise of Nachos and cheese being washed down with beer.
The whistle blows......
Kerry Fraser skates to centre ice once again...
Points his finger towards the Florida team...singles out Rod Brind'Amour...
Florida penalty...Brind'Amour...2 minutes for roughing!
Brind'Amour upon hearing the call skates hard towards the ref, yelling and arguing the call. He slips on the ice knocking Fraser on his keester. Fraser gets up...smoothes out his hair....and adds a Misconduct onto Brind'Amours' total. The Panthers must finish the game minus their soul and leader.
PENALTIES: R. BRIND'AMOUR PAN (ROUGHING, Minor, Misconduct) 03:07
Kerry Frasers hair looked fine after the collision...one could notice a small patch just above his neckline that had a small dent...but unless one was at ice level they wouldnt notice. Fraser smiled...and skated to the faceoff circle...hand held high in the air.

My call is the Panthers tie it up on a late Gonchar or Modano goal, and then Brindy returns to score the OT winner!

I say Holik attempts to pull up Blake's ginchy and gets decked. The plugs fall out of Holik's neck and the air escapes from MJK hotter than the Sahara winds!

Fraser called the teams to the faceoff circle....Rangers on the powerplay.
Reinprecht took the faceoff and dumped the puck deep into the Panthers zone...
The Panthers grabbed the loose puck and quickly chipped it back down the ice.
Play continued with both teams still playing tough close to the vest hockey....
the penalty expired and both teams were once again at full strength.
The time started to tick away faster.....Panthers coach MJK wondering what strings to pull....Rangers assistant coach Becky worrying about lines.
and then it happened......

And then what happened?
Im guessing the game went into overtime. Only in the CPHL can a man go to work when the game is starting and come home half way through the third period to see the ending.
