I use a private forum where, for the most part, users have respect for others. Downloading Sky Captain now
Well good for the RIAA, I'm not downloading music off of it.

What makes you think the private forum is any safer?

As a Canadian, I am not too worried about what the Recording Industry Assosiation of America can do to me.

I don't download new movies myself. I like seeing new movies like Spiderman etc on the big screen, and more a "cool" looking movie like Sky Captain, were eye candy is part of the plot watching it on your computer screen doesn't appeal to me.

BUT, some of those movies are not all filmed on George Costanza's video camera. Some of them are "screeners" the actual film that some members of the press, film critics.. whoever, slip to the public.

I meant the MPAA, and while it's not technically safer noone has had any ISP complaints yet.

Because I'd like to see it but not enough to see it in a theatre. You'd be surprised at the quality sometimes.

Shrek 2 is dvd quality on only a cd-r.

I might be totally off base here, but I was under the impression that the Motion Picture Association of America is mostly around to review the content of movies and give a rating to each film.

I think the MPAA started to get involved also. I can't remember the extent of their actions though.

Anyways, I would love for the RIAA or MPAA to try to stop me. What are they going to do, take my student debt from me?

Yup, your right. I didn't know they were had gotten into the anti-piracy game.
http://www.mpaa.org/anti-piracy/

You know what is interesting about this whole entire piracy boondoggle. Ever since I started downloading music, the amount of records and CD's I purchase has gone up a considerable amount. If I want to hear new music, I download the songs and check them out.. if I like the music I go out and buy the album.

I can't be the only one who is like that, can I?

Nope, you aren't the only one. Lately I've found myself buying more cd's. I went at least a year without buying any when Napster first came out. Now I'm probably buying 10 a year. Actually, I now find myself buying cd's without downloading any of the songs first. O_o
The main reason I'm buying now is that I can notice the difference between a ripped song and a good cd.

Arrrr....org still works for me. What the heck? Which mod has been messing around? You know its fine and dandy it happens, but when someone gets a 3 day ban, or gets a thread deleted or has a word erased a simple explaination helps guys.

Okay, [MOD EDIT: Removed reference to software download site] still works fine for me.

go to [MOD EDIT: Removed reference to illegal software download site]

The [MOD EDIT: Removed reference to illegal software download site] place is a ripoff and probably isn't worth the subscription price at all.

Maybe I'm getting a different page or something. Will keep searching...

Yeah, I keep getting this "File Download Network" main page. Right place?

In the word [MOD EDIT: Removed reference to illegal software download site]don't put the [MOD EDIT: Removed reference to illegal software download site] in there. No [MOD EDIT: Removed reference to illegal software download site], that should solve your problem.
