Yeah I always think that too, but this stuff is pretty worthless. They made millions of them.

I looked up "Adventure People" on E-bay not so long ago and, because I have mental problems, actually considered buying them because I loved them so much when I was a kid and they are so cheap now. Probably cheaper than they were new.

Speaking of, action figures today are ridiculous. They all make noise or have moving parts and Spiderman looks like a ballet dancer. There is no action -- it's all figure!

I remember sitting at the dining room table and playing battleship with my sister. Remember the original battleship game that looked like laptop computers? Loved that game.

A few years later, nintedo came out.

A few years later, I got a nintendo and my sister and I would play the supermariobros/duckhunt game endlessly.

Then came SNES and Super Mario Kart.

I probably spent a couple thousand hours playing that game. My sister too.

I remember my dad calling me one day and claiming he was driving up the street to pick me up at my moms house. I told him that that was impossible. He told me to go outside. Lo and behold, there was my father with a gigantic calculator in his hand. The birth of the cellphone.

I remember riding BMXs with my friends.

Remember the days where you had to go and knock on your friends door to see if he wanted to go ride bikes? The days before msn.

I remember my dads old 286. Top of the line. Dos shell.
ring, ring.... "hey (friend). Wanna come over and play video games?"

"yeah"

"ok, get on overhere and bring your disks"

floppy disks with games such as lemmings, mech warriors, scorched earth....

spam meant only one thing...

mister soft drink in bonavista plaza was where a good portion of my allowance was spent.

The balance was spent at Laser Illusions in Soiuthcenter.

My first car was a Ford Tempo. Wasn't everyone's? (everyone in their mid to late 20s)

I remember being able to fix pretty much anything that was wrong with that car. All you needed was a Haynes, and your dad's tools.

Mine was a '76 Buick Regal - in 1988.

I'm almost wondering if we should start a "First Car" thread.

two chocolate bars for a dollar
Nacho's and Cheese in the Cardboard containers
I remember dialing random phone numbesr and asking people if their fridges we're running, if so they'd better go catch them
hand programming a game into my commodore 64
Jumpman and Jumpman Jr. for commodore 64
I remember the first EA hockey for Pc, I got beaten like 10-4 in my first game ever, I'm pretty sure the discs for that game are still at my parents place

The C64 was an awesome computer and I'm not kidding! It was really cutting edge and I loved the thing. First time I played GTA: Vice City and they did a mock up C64 loading screen with the colourful lines just cracked me up.

And to think that Pong was absolutely amazing at the time. I wasted so much time playing that game.

I remember phoning home from bright red phone booths (in England)

My first computer was a Sinclair ZX80 which has a massive 1k memory!

Probably the best story I've got though is the time I met Paul McCartney when I was only 6 years old or so. He is my friends cousin in Liverpool and I got to see him playing "Hey Jude" on my friends piano. Paul then took me and my buddies for a ride in his brand new Bentley. I cannot hear that song now without remembering that good old day. (Wonder if the Beatles will still be remembered by the time I get to tell my grandkids about it?)
