It was on the HD channels, but the shows themselves were in 4:3, upconverted.

Very similar to DVD quality.

Holy Crap!!! Has anyone been watching? Thanks to the french I'm up to episode 10, and all I can get out is holy crap!

Invisotext............

I've lost count of how many sides Shane is playing. And who didn't think the pic of David with a hog in his mouth wasn't goning to come out again!!! This show just keeps getting better and better! And I think Ronnie is turning quickly into my fav character now that Lem's gone, he knew what Vic did to Terry all along, crazy!!!

end invisotext....

I'm up to episode 10 as well.

I love how Shane manages to constantly screw up everything. I can't believe the idiot was dumb enough to tell the Armenians about the Money Train. He's always looking for short-term gain without ever considering the big picture, which is how he differs from Vic. He sure keeps the show interesting though. This political corruption that Vic is investigating is getting interesting as well. I don't understand why he walked out on the review board though. How is that going to help anything?

Yeah, I watched the finale over the weekend, that was unreal. The show never disappoints, all 10 episodes were very strong this season, although, this season did seem to end abruptly. There is so much out in the open.

white text:

What is Vic's reaction towards Shane gonna be, when he said, "We're gonna find him, and we're gonna crush him" I actually clapped

Dutch boy finally getting the chick he has wanted since Season 1, that was awesome.

I knew Hyatt wasn't gonna last, but I kinda liked him as part of the strike team.

WOW, I finally got to watch episode 10.....all I can say is WOW.

The Series ender of the Sopranos is next week and I really can't wait, but it doesn't hold a candle to the anticipation I have for the final season of the Shield next year.

The Shield seasons 1 through 6 = best television ever!

It's been pretty damn good, but I gotta go with Sopranos. Well, at least this last season, I have been blown away. Not to take anything away from the shield, because I equally blown away and I can't will till next year, but Sopranos has always been my number one. Although last season of Sopranos kinda turned me off, but this current one is the best I have seen in awhile.

Gotta disagree with ya VFF. Last season of the Sopranos blew chunks with the exception of JR. shooting Tony. This season has been awesome, but the AJ story has crapped the bed. I think he will play a MAJOR part this week, but it has been hard to watch so far. Paulie will not turn on Tony....write that down..won't happen!

The "offing" of main characters (Christopher, Sil & Bobby) has been shock and awe but overall the writing of the coming ending of the Shield has it out in front. The Sopranos has left too many loopholes to close in one 61 minute episode while the Shield still has a season of mayhem ahead of it.

BTW - I heard they have taped 3 endings of the Sopranos, so the cast does not even know which way they are going. I pray it's not some stupid Tony coma dream sequence or Christopher sitting at a computer writing all of this storyline. That will make baby Jesus cry....

I love the Sopranos and have seasons 1-4 on DVD but if asked by a friend, I will recommend someone watch seasons 1-6 of the Shield first.

Thanks for the heads up, I have seasons 2-5, so I need number one. Im not surprised they are doin this, the shield had switched DVD distributors, so Im sure Best Buy and Future will be getting a new shipment coming in.

Cant wait for Season 7 this spring. Despite the fact that Shawn Ryan was not involved in it, Im still eagerly anticipating the conclusion of the best show on TV that very few in Canada know about.

As everyone knows, the 7th and final season of The Shield has been shot and wrapped and will begin airing on FX in the US on September 2nd. The show's website has some great (albeit short) one on one interviews between various castmembers about their experiences and about the story itself. Great stuff and it certainly whets the appetite.

I would imagine they will have a lot more of this stuff on the final DVD collector's edition they release (which I will buy giddily).

Here's the link...seems like they add a new set each week.

What a great show. I sold the first four seasons on DVD to someone on this forum...something I regret. I really wish I could re-watch the episodes in anticipation of the final season. FX is such a great channel.

Anyone know the song FX is using for the final season trailer??

Here's a link..it's only a short clip but I gotta find out what song it is.

http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/the_shield/

Just play the trailer that is already loaded on the page.

Only 5 more weeks.

Figured it out....it's "Farewell Ride" by Beck.

I've never been a fan, don't have any of his stuff...but I have a couple of very close friends who have recommended him to me a couple of times. Given that and this song, I think I will be picking up some Beck soon.

God, Sept 2 could not get here sooner. The Shield has been a fav show of mine ever since I saw Vic shoot Terry in the first episode. I knew this show was different.

Wow, I just rented season 1 of it and couldnt stop watching it.

I am waiting for 7 to be finished before I buy the whole 1-7 season set which I am sure they will come out with. I refuse to watch any more until 7 is done so I can dedicate some block time to watch seasons 1-7 in a row.

I love going thru binge watching like that. I recently watched all five seasons of 6 feet under in about 3 weeks. I didn;t have a life, but bloody hell, it was worth it. That series final was probably the finest hour of telebision that I have ever watched.

Don't know how many of you have been checking out the videos on The Shield website at the link I posted above, but there is some truly great stuff on this week between Walton Goggins and Kenny Johnson. Well worth the 10 minutes or so. I've watched everything at the website except the selected scenes from season 7. I refuse to let anything about the season creep into my head. 3 weeks to go!

Is this going to be viewable in Canada immediately, other than by downloading it?
