Yeah, that is kinds of what I was thinking, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't over reacting. I got the # for enmax power trouble, but shockly the number is busy right now.

And I'm sick. Darn flu.

I really, really, really hate March. Can't we just fast-forward to April 30th?

On the police scanner here at work they said it was province wide? That's a big surge. I bet someone in Edmonton slipped on one of Pronger's broken sticks and it started a wierd chain reaction that caused the surge.

Damn Pronger and his broken sticks.

PS. That's funny about your dog, my dog has done the same thing.

I guess my computer shut off too. I was sleeping at the time, read this thread, and read the part about the Enmax Center in Lethbridge shut of and asked my wife and she said it flickered off for a second at our house too.

Weird, reports of this happening from Lethbridge to Edmonton.

I'm getting a UPS for my computer.

A monitor got fried here. I had to stop what I was doing (reading cp) and replace it.

19" CRT monitors suck

Global said one of the lines between BC & AB shut down.

It appears to have zapped my receiver, even though it was on a surge protector. @$!#

Video will still go through it, but no sound.

Blame it on the Oilers. Down in Dr. Lowenstein's dungeon they were trying to bring to life the SchrempengreeneUmicevicdubnyk monster to challenge The Dion.

Yea, got the same thing here, was on the Pc and had the TV on, and all of a sudden the lights dim and the computer just goes out, freaked me out big time, glad to hear it wasn't just me.

I was driving down Glenmore when it hit. I saw a strobe-like flash, and then all the streetlights etc. went out. Used my highbeams for a couple of minutes (no other cars coming) Radio went off air for a few seconds as well.

Computer was still chugging when I got home, but the UPS had kicked in.

No radio eh? That would have creeped me right out.

Yeah, I was reading CP and listening online to the UMinn/St. Cloud State game online when the power went out. Had to reboot the 'puter a few times to re-establish the internet connection.

I'm still suspecting the Oilers at fault, with The Dion out east. If there had been a static cling episode, the Eastern Seaboard grid would have come down.

Yes the power did indeed flicker in the Enmax Center. The Calgary side was darker after it came back on, too. Wierd.

Yup, got hit here in Chestermere too. UPS did its job

Reminds me, I should get a flashlight and put it somewhere so I know where it is.

When the first flicker happened I was using power tools. I thought it was me shorting something out until I realized it was my cordless drill in my hands.

Just got back from playing hockey and the clocks were all of. The ~9:15 one wasn't long enough to affect the clocks, but according to one manual clock the power was out in my area for about 1/2 an hour sometime between 9:45 and 2:00. (I'm in Copperfield)
