The scariest airport I've ever been to is Bombay airport. I like how I was harrassed by the locals to buy things...and they got pretty angry if you said "no."

I don't know if it has been renovated yet or what, but Logan in Boston was a brutal airport. Apparently it was insecure too, since at least some of the 9/11 flights were hijacked from there. I'm guessing that has changed now.

Overall though, Luton airport in London is probably the worst.

Just got back to Halifax from Ottawa, and had a good experiance on CanJet on the way out and back. The way out the pressurization of the plane was off though.

I agree LAX is awful, at least the Domestic terminal. I was just there last weekend, and Alaska Airlines lost my bag. They couldn't even find out where it was, they ended up phoning Calgary, who then tracked the bag to Seattle (it got on the wrong flight) anywho the tools at the baggage claim had no clue how to use their systems or telephones.

If you want food at LAX you have to go to Terminal 3 Intl.

Worst airline - Olympic Airlines

Frankfurt to Athens - they still allow smoking on these planes (or at least they did 6 years ago). The flight attendants were smoking, the passengers were smoking, everbody was smoking. A good preparation for Greece.

The stewardesses were smoking while preparing our lunches!

This is why I avoid checking in any luggage whenever possible, I keep all packing to a minimum in the carry-on for trips under 7 days.

You get what you pay for.

If you want Air Canada to be competetive with WestJet on ticket prices, don't expect them to to offer full meal service and all the old luxuries they used to. It just doesn't work that way.

I have to say though, the AC fleet needs it's planned upgrade to lieflat (for Executive First) and PTV's & power sockets for Economy badly. Actually doing maintenance on them on a routine basis would be nice too (my chair's earphones and headrest was busted)

After riding EasyJet and GB Airways (a British Airways Low Cost Carrier) this past trip, it's safe to say all LCC's are looking pretty much the same. Zilch for food, which actually makes Air Canada's Onboard Cafe with Subway sandwiches pretty good. Nice new planes on EasyJet, and Seville - London was only 58 pounds in total!

What I'd like to know if we're incorrectly bashing the airlines for lost luggage and slow offloading times for luggage. I've been through some of the largest airports in the world, and I swear the slowest has to be Calgary for getting your bags to the belt from the plane. (Although Toronto gives us a good run for the title). Seriously, it took 35 minutes to luggage to reach the belt. Is this the airlines responsibility or the airports? Should be be bashing the airlines or ramp rats employed by the airport itself?

It crap like that that enourages people to carry-on, which IMHO is getting out of control. I saw at least 4 bags on the flight that should have flunked the sizer test. Oh well, I suspect carry on will be the next thing for the airlines to cut back on, to speed up security screening and reduce the need for larger overhead bins/weight.

I seriously doubt it. Logan is by the far the worst airport Ive ever been to, and its always in dissarray. There is absolutely no signange anywhere to tell you that you are in the wrong terminal (or hel, the fact that there are multiple terminals), and the place is a serious ****hole with horrible service. I had to take two shuttle busses (which of course nobody told me about, i just had to find out on my own) out into some crappy shack in the middle of the airfield just to make a flight form boston to new york.

Btw, I flew on Austrian airlines a few times in the last couple of weeks...and I have to say it was one of the best experiences I ever had. Great friendly service, brand new planes with amazing entertainment systems, good food and lots of it, and there were no problems whatsoever with luggage or timeliness.

I would definitely give my thumbs up to Austrian.

I've found Calgary pretty quick with the baggage. But I've been flying WestJet into Calgary and it could be different with Air Canada.
