Dirge was my favorite transformer. He was the only one I owned. I used to watch with great anticipation hoping he would appear. He rarely did.

Yeah Derge was one of my first ones too so i was a big fan of his. Of course dude had no distinct characteristics. He was just "that other plane" so he rarely got any airtime on the show.

Ramjet was one of the jets too. Starscream, Ramjet, Derge (White and bolck very cool) , Thundercracker, Skywarp (black jet), Thrust (red jet with fans)

Actually, after the movie, Hot Rod became leader (Rodimus Prime) and the whole season of TV episodes were about his insecurities about filling Optimus' giant shoes and how he doubted himself and was too anxious and screwed up so much. Eventually, all the Transformers (and all of earth) were infected by a hate plague and Rodimus became evil. Optimus was brought back to life by the Quintessons, fought Rodimus and stole the Matrix from his chest and became leader again and wiped out the plague by emptying the Matrix. So Optimus didn't die

(Of course in the Japanese only series which never aired here, he soon died again when Galvatron made Cybertron explode) and Ultra Magnus was killed by Sixshot (the guy that turned into 6 things) and Blaster and Soundwave destroyed each other in a fight.

And AlbertGQ, Dirge is the right spelling. Dirge was the blue jet, Ramjet white. They were all F-15 Eagles and not F-16s.

I feel like I deserve many for this overinformation.

Actually Optimus gave the matrix back to Rodimus after he empties it and saves the humans and the transformers and it was up to all of us (them) to fill it back up again. He had to cover himself with some white powder so that plague wouldn't infect him as well. In fact, Galvatron helped Optimus gain access to that white powder (which was actually some form of steel that got melted down and sprayed on him). And not only did Optimus return that episode, but also Bumblebee, but he came back as Goldbug

How many should I get?

Nope, Rodimus reverted back to young Hot Rod, Optimus kept the Matrix, and took command saying "Transform and Roll Out" as the last line in the U.S. Transformers show ever. The steel was designed by Marissa Fairborne and her father which she was testing at the beginning of the episode - finding Prime's body controlling a ship heading into a sun, they rescue his body (long story, he came back to life one more time previously when the Quintessons used his body in a plot in "Dark Awakening").

And it's

There's a new movie actually, produced by Steven Spielberg. I'm not kidding. - It might totally suck though.

I'll concede that Rodimus reverted to Hot Rod and stayed as Hot Rod but I am almost certain that Optimus gave the empty matrix back to him. Yes, Optimus said that final line "Autobots, transform and roll out", but I am willing to bet that Optimus gave the empty matrix back to Hot Rod.
