I'm 22 and I have a high hairline, a huge widow's peak, and thin hair... but I have enough to pull off a nice look with medium hair length.

Reason I ask is that my dad has a receeded hair line, but he's still got relatively thick hair from the top-centre of his head to the back. However, if you look at him from the front, it looks like he's lost his hair up there. My grandfather (on my mom's side) had thin hair, but managed to keep his hair into his mid-80's.

Just found out that my uncle has been using Nioxin for 20 years... and here I just thought he had naturally thick hair. Had no idea he was using it; could have fooled me.

So my question is should I use this stuff? Apparently it just prevents hair loss; it doesn't do anything for hair growth. I've got nice hair right now (not thick, but not too thin either), and while I don't mind going bald one day, I a) will keep my hair if I can, and b) will end up looking really bad with a shaved head at this point, since I'm too scrawny to have one. |

OK so I'll admit it I use nioxin, well not the whole treatment. I started using the shampoo, conditioner, stuff you put in after you get out of the shower so basically 3 steps to it. You are correct in that it doesn't "regrow" hair rather stops it from falling out. Since using the stuff I have noticed 2 things

1) I no longer find a sh*t load of hair in my fingers while styling it or shampooing

2) I no longer use the shampoo or the conditioner...the only thing I use is the pump in liquid that you put in after you get out of the shower (step 3). The shampoo and conditioner just seem to be that extra cash grab as I haven't noticed any change AFTER i stopped using the shampoo and conditioner which leaves me to believe that they aren't needed

the stuff I am referring to costs about $35 for a bottle that lasts about 3 months so not bad at all. What it supposedly does is bring the blood to the surface so don't spill it on yourself cause it leaves red bloches for about 20 minutes
