That being said. If you want a buch of thread about which player is hotter than good luck getting back on to the Flames board. If you want some good hockey talk and a whole lot fewer 13 year olds. then by all means stick around here.
Wow, what a warm reception, no? I don't recall there being any discussions that were susceptible to puckbunnies, especially after they got rid of Flames Players Talk, but thanks for coming out. The Official Calgary Flames message board has had good hockey talk from Flames fans and rival fans alike. The youth that are a part of that forum add to the diversity of Flames fans - some may not have the foggiest of clues as to what they are talking about but it doesn't make the Calgary Flames forum as bland.

That being said, the board was shut down because of the Arabic cartoons. An exec lost his cool and ordered Mike Board to shut it down. It's a pity considering it has made international headlines and is being much discussed on other NHL boards as well without the consequences. If there were racial insults and slurs being thrown around, then by all means, lock the thread and ban the users involved. The internet is not foolproof to these kinds of things and the exec obviously fails to realize that Peeps or Rio can not be around 24/7 and act as a firewall.

Wonder if the exec is arabic?? Or just trying to avoid a potential negative publicity?

Didn't they shut down the board for a while last year (The official Cf.com one) for a brief period during the play-off run because everyone was linking to Flames girls sites or something of that nature. Not too sure, but remember something along those lines.

Anyways, you'll soon find that this site has alot more intelligent and generally more serious topics, hope you enjoy your stay.

And I've read posts on here, and this is where HOCKEY FANS (not puck bunnies and Vancouver or Edmonton trolls) come and discuss. Because I rarely see any Vancouver/Edmonton fans bashing our team/players illegitimately.

Does the latest announcement have anything to do with the subject of this thread?

The Flames Board was shut down due to the Danish Mohammed Cartoon?

This can't be for real.
