Mr. Manley was frustrated during the 2003 leadership contest by what he considered the party brass's attempts to rig the rules to ensure a Mr. Martin coronation. Some Liberals suspect the party is now attempting to do the same thing again, preparing to set an early fall date for the leadership convention, something that would favour Mr. McKenna.

Shame about Manley-that's guy's got the best hair in Canada (outside of me).

A name that's popping up a lot as a darkhorse is Vaughan MP Maurizio Bevilacqua. He was my MP back when I lived in Woodbridge, ON...I never saw anything in the guy that led me to think he had leadership potential.

What about Hedy Fry?

As far as the next US Ambassador, I was thinking of sending my resume to Harper-I'd be perfect for the job. If I'm not chosen, my guess would be Preston Manning or Joe Clark.
