What's worse about most Calgary radio stations is the radio personalities. Don, Joan and the Coach are beyond boring. Everyone at the Fan except for Mike is dull (but I did like Bruce stepping in, he should get his own 2 hours).

I listen to Jim Rome mostly and when it ends, makes the switch to 90.9 FM which is UofC's station.

You have to be kidding. I am one of the few that will listen to Joe, I disagree with most of waht he says but will listen to it, if Dowbiggen got those two hours I would quit and I am a die hard 960 listener. (I even listen to those god awful Hitman broadcasts. Which should definatly be the first thing to go.)

That's their mandate. Sports programming. The more local content the better.

Agreed. I'll take those "gawd awful hitman broadcasts" over anything ESPN can offer us.

Hell, I'd rather they broadcast more AJHL games than simulcast that American garbage.

ESPN has way too much "why Texas A&M needs to improve their strong safety recruiting and, after the break, startling events in the Knicks-Spurs game"

Keep doing the local stuff. Some of it I don't like but someone local probably does.

I dont mind the ESPN stuff. I am a follower of NFL, NBA, college ball, etc. So I dont mind it. I would cringe at the thought of listening to AJHL hockey though, but then again, I could be the minority. I could care less bout AJHL.

The worst was when they had the play by play for our baseball team. What a waste of a time slot. Jim Rome is the best though.

The ESPN is the best stufff they have in my opinion.

I understand that they have to broadcast the local stuff and that many people probably want to hear the Hitmen, it just seems that they are always on and considering I dislike the Hitmen I would prefer to hear the ESPN stuff for sure.

I think there's a reason hip hop stations never make it in Calgary. They always revert to pop.... then add some rock... soon they'll all be rock.

Greenday92.1 or Weezer92.1 is totally unlistenable (is that a word)?

That one from Highriver is pretty good... 109.7 or something.

FAN960 is pretty much it... except when them americans are on blabbing about "nutrition pills".. Anyone been up that early and listened to it? You think its a reeeeealy long commercial until your get to where your going and notice they haven't shut up yet.

Since I follow basketball and baseball to a lesser extent, I also enjoy the ESPN programming. I understand the Hitman broadcasts and dont mind them, but would much rather have more Raptors on the radio, just so long as they dont interfere with the Flames broadcasts. Peter Mahr and Mike Richards are the two best voices on radio.

Ugh.. I'd rather crash my car than be subjected to a raptors game.

No offence... but that is just me.
