Not only Dickenson and Catton, but Celebrini is young enough to still be on this team. Canada always get screwed because their players are just too good.

From what it sounds like, definitely not much controversy around the team selection this year, which is a relief.
Always good to have some Flames prospects to cheer for on Team Canada. Should be a good one!

Only a single player playing in the Q was invited. In fact only one player born east of Ontario at all.

Desnoyers, McKenna, Iggy, Parekh, Verhoeff, Reschny, Martone, Misa...
This is gonna be some absolute must-watch TV. Super excited for this one for sure!
Edit: would've liked to see Cam Schmidt too.

Desnoyers says hi.
Edit: Whoops, I read that as "Not a single..." for some reason.

Hopefully it ends up being a positive experience for Parekh.
The season up until now has been a disaster.

Not sure O'Reilly's 27 points in 27 games and -12 as a 19 year old are must haves but he does play in London so tie goes to familiarity I would guess.

My Christmas wish is that Zayne gets his confidence back and comes back into the NHL a new man..

I agree... it'll be interesting to see how the Flames handle him after the World Juniors. Would they send him back to Junior to continue to rip it up? Sure, he's got nothing left to learn there but might just want to reaffirm his talent for a few months and then start him in the AHL next year.

From what I understand, we can send him to the Wranglers for a conditioning stint after the WJC is done. Aside from that, I see much more value in keeping him with the big club where he can utilize NHL facilities, training staff and coaching.

I wonder if trying to time his conditioning stint to the AHL over the Olympic break might work. May have him in a better state when everyone comes back.

Also the flames royally SUCKED at the beginning of the year.. They are quite a bit better now, Parekh should fit in better with the better team I think.

I count 3 2026 draft eligible players on D alone. Impressive if they each make the team.

Ethan Mackenzie is an interesting one. Passed over in two drafts already.
