It seems to me like there were three or more things going on.

(1) The co-worker/former classmate doing stuff to him to scare him. She might have broken the chair as well and then her boyfriend seemed to be doing some of the calls, home visits, etc.

(2) The daughter and wife creating false leads for him to try and get him to "solve" the case out of fear for his well being.

(3) His boss getting duped by that Sandy guy (who was also shot in that random scene). Then somehow that song got sold to the chair company.

(4) Mike just being a total weirdo and not really useful at all.

(5) Beyond all that, there seems to also (maybe) be an actual conspiracy here.

They lost me in the last 2 episodes. I'm not sure I can stomach another entire season of the relentless cringe.

Fun for a bit, but I'm out.

I thought when the son was admitting his heart wasn't in basketball and he found something else he was going to say "drinking". But then, <bam!> stop motion animation out of nowhere.

Also, is Wendy's going to go in on this Carvers idea for real? The world needs a more upscale ham place.

That last episode was flat out crazy. They totally unraveled what appeared to be a pretty wound up storyline. I'll probably tune in for season 2.

The absurdity of not quite knowing whatever it is that I am watching keeps me tuning in, and I like the risks Tim Robinson takes. HBO must have a lot of trust in him to just let it keep going on like this.

Who here had Minnie Mouse coming home on their 2025 bingo card?

At that point, they were just undoing closed storylines for the sake of it. I don't know if I've ever seen a show do this before. They ended the season an episode early. Then used that last episode to undo all the resolutions.

Maybe they made it to be a one season thing, and when they got a good reception they added the undo episode so they could milk another season?

I hope Douglas decides to stay in the wheelchair since it's sort of up to him about how long he has to use it.

Well that was a f'n fever dream. Jim Downey as Douglas was brilliant. I have nothing to say about The Chair Company beyond that, I know when a guy is at his limit.

I thought it was terrible. Held on past ep3 on the recommendations of this board, then was pot committed enough to finish, I see what they are trying to do, I think they are trying to hard, and I didn't get to the point of caring.
