Could be that he doesn't have finishing skill for sure, but the creation stats with him on the ice suggest his teammates should have finished more frequently as well.

He puts those same underlying numbers forward this year and I think he's a 20-20-40 guy.
Seems like the story of many players that come to the Flames. Is there something in the paint at the dome that prevents players from finishing?

His previous season stats also show a consistent 40-50p pace. Seems like an easy bet that he should improve this season. Did he get a bunch of powerplay time in Philly?

Its the red of the posts. Its like Spanish bullfighting, the players see the red of the posts and just zone-in on it!

I like him also. I wonder if his terrible season may have had something to do with Torts totally killing any confidence he had from the previous 2 seasons. Could have been in a funk all year long and maybe will revert to form again.

Farabee by ALL accounts was harder on himself then anyone could be.

His exact words were he was embarrassed. EMBARRASSED. THIS kid knows he can be better .

Before he was traded here he was Chasing Pospisil around the ice and Martin wanted NO part on that.

Calgary was impressed by that and his potential so he wasn't merely a throw in .

His game has warts. TORTZ complete dismantling of him was the weirdest thing I've seen him do to a player but had some merit.

If he can find his game....it up to him ....Joel needs to be consistent like any NHLer. And in Calgary he better do it damn fast as he'll be passed on the Depth chart quickly as competition is higher here than ever ....that's a good thing.
I hope he can do it . Shame to watch a young man broken a nd give up on himself. Morgan his buddy will hopefully help him

What would he need to do in order to bounce back? Is it all about puck luck? Or does he need to get more consistent at going to the net, or at getting the puck back for his line?

He was a bit snakebitten, and had a pretty low shooting percentage of 6% at 5on5 , compared to 10.8% in his first 3 seasons. That resulted in a pretty low PDO of 960, and a +/- of -10 at 5on5 despite a positive xG% of 51.7%.
