I'm high on Gridin. His year in the Q was not much different than that of Desnoyers who just went 4th overall. I think Gridin's ceiling is higher than some of the other guys I am considering here so that tipped the scales in his favour for me

Basha, Battaglia and Mews are big time sleepers IMO. I'm still really really high on Mews. RHS depth though keeps him buried. Could be a strong trade chip at. Some point.

I'd have voted for Potter at 2. And at 3 but there's some strong players who made some real noise this past year in the system.

Agree. That + Parekh is the top 5 IMO. 2-5 order could be anything, though. It is the 6-10 ranking where things get interesting.

the Ellis list isn't exactly mine but pretty close- I think he put good work into it
and again that's a strong top 10 when a legit name like Basha (who I would have in mine) isn't there, let alone a few other pretty strong prospects

Basha is up there, too. Even on a gammy leg.

Had to go Bru, he got so much better as the season went on, the improvement was amazing and fun to watch. He definitely seemed to gain confidence, later in the season he was throwing hits and getting in scrums a lot more. I feel pretty confident he will see NHL time sooner than later.

I think you can make a reasonable argument for a lot of players after Parekh.
I picked Brz mainly because I think he has a high probability of being a quality NHL defenseman in some capacity. Low floor so to speak. Even if his offense doesn't translate as much, he has a lot of other tools to be a two-way player. There is also something about the way he carries himself, like he has that x factor. If his offense pops, I think he can be a top 4 guy, at worst, I think he will be a quality 5.
I'll admit though, when these polls come along, I switch between emphasizing things like high ceiling and likeliness of making it for no justifiable reason.

Yeah it's Basha for me every round now until he's chosen. I think he's got a very high ceiling and high floor IMO. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get games with the Flames this season and push hard for a spot in camp. Nothing against Bruz and Gridin who look great in their own right.

Thought about Bruz, Battaglia, Potter, Basha, Mews and Morin, but will probably rank them in that order moving forward.

Tage Thompson.
He's a big bodied player who needs to grow into his frame, but his style of play -- particularly his showing in pre-season and the NHL before his injuries -- has power forward written all over it. He's just not strong enough to play that game yet (and he legitimately may never get there).
In my mind, he's the biggest boom/bust of the top 10, but I think his ceiling is higher than Gridin because personally I see Honzek's overall game creating more playoff success.
I don't have any issues with folks ranking other prospects higher though (although I don't understand why some people ranked Gridin above Reschny).

It gets tougher to choose now.
Went with Potter for star potential but could have been a few others.
Plus he’s a wizard.

Rory. Kerins.
This guy is an NHLer, he is a centre. He has excelled at every level of his career. He’s reasonably responsible both ways, and critically, he knows how to get inside and finish.
He is the middle six center the team is looking for both now and in the future.

Yeah, Kerins excelled at every level so much that as a 20-year-old he spent most of the year in the ECHL, and didn't have a strong AHL season until his D+5 year. He did score a bunch in the first game of his callup before completely disappearing, so I suppose there is that.
I'm really not taken with the guy as an NHL player.
