So generally speaking, everything he does looks weird and slow, but somehow he is incredibly effective.

His skating is around average, but will improve as he gets stronger- his mechanics are sound, and I don't see his speed as much of a weakness going forward (Allison was horribly slow, lol). Even still, he needs to learn to play with greater pace- which I believe is his biggest weakness. He slows down to make plays.

Just read he beat cancer as a kid.
Was already rooting for him since he got drafted by the correct team. Now I'm rooting for him extra hard

Sounds like he has some legitimate high upside, but with some question-marks and warts. Hopefully the Flames are able to really develop him well. Starting to like this pick more and more.
