I have to think come deadline the Kraken are selling him for a profit. That said, he has 8 goals and 16 points in his last 49 playoff games with Dallas, and 11 and 19 in 59 career playoff games. So they might be looking at that and thinking we need more from a third line, especially as you get deeper into the playoffs where third lines can really tip the scale in a series. That said..they brought Duchene back...although I guess he maybe helps you get to the playoffs a bit more.

So he out produced Duchene who they signed to a long term deal.

Duchene has 147 points in his last 162 regular season games, and 12 points in his last 37 playoff games.

Marchment has 100 points in his last 143 regular season games, and 10 points in his last 31 playoff games.

So really if you're keeping one of them for $4.5M it probably is the right decision to make it Duchene. Neither are great in the playoffs but at least one guy does a better job of helping to get you there.
