So....summary execution at centre ice prior to puck drop on Game 1? No it should be Game 2.

Because it's Kane.... it could get messy.

Both he and the organization are known for making ill-advised public statements.

Both should lawyer up.

Right. For a guy who never set foot on NHL Regulation Season Ice once all season.

So...someone is lying.

Oh I do so hope that the ‘investigation’ drags on a bit, the Oilers end up jettisoning Kane out of Edmonton this offseason to try and make cap room, and Kane happily throws them under the bus.

Hope the Oilers have to take a cap penalty or lose draft picks for this

I have no idea what the facts in this are. Quite frankly, I don't intend to learn them.

What I am certain of is that the oilers are cheaters, and they cheated again here. Fine them.

Seriously? Come on! This stinks!!

I can't possibly be any more excited over what happened in the last 24 hours. It just keeps getting even better every few hours! My smile is so big now that I worry that I will become a flip-top head like the Reach toothbrush commercials!

*Doesn't come out for the Finals handshake*

*immediately ####s over the Oilers*

I'm not making any official declarations, but if that ends up being the case... lmao thank you Evander Kane for being a bitch for the Oilers one last time, both importantly right now and in the short term McDavid future

I’m glad they brought Kane back for the playoffs. He spent most of it in the penalty box.

Seems like a pretty open and shut case. Of course that doesn't mean anything will come of this.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...ipated-return/

April 14: Asked when he'll be making his debut he smirked and then said "If you're comparing how I feel now to last year, I'm ready to go."

Yet he didn't play the 2 remaining regular season games as they'd need to be cap compliant for that to happen.

Pretty sure every one and their dog could see when Kane and the Oilers waited 4-5 months to get him into surgery that the "spirit" of the CBA was being violated.

Violated like how a fully decked out Oilers fan violates your retinas on a summer day.

And they thought they were making it less obvious by sitting him for game 1 against LA.

Kane has a year left on his contract. Even if he sat out say hypothetically a month longer than he should have, any potential loss in future earning potential on his next contract do to the negative effects that time off has on his performance next season would in my opinion be peanuts compared to the potential loss from other GMs not wanting to sign him as a result of him throwing his previous team under the bus.

It’s also unlikely that the PA is going to be up in arms about something that saw more players get paid this season. Not to mention the fact that the terrible optics of filing a grievance that could potentially result in the league imposing cap penalties on a team which would lead to less money going to players is enough reason alone for the PA not to file a grievance over it.
I think the NHLPA might actually be against teams not letting healthy players play, especially if they want to play.

Players want to play, and their next contract is always related to how they play now. Players also often care about things like career numbers.

Especially if there's suspicions that they purposefully timed surgeries to keep him out all season, that might very well be something the PA wants to put a stop to. Generally speaking, their thing is being for players being able to make their own decisions.
