• Flames do not sign or trade for any Left shot D men and promote Grushnikov to a full time role after camp. Solovyov and Kuznetsov get spot rotation throughout the year.

• Poirier is dealt to a team in the east

• Backlund is dealt at the deadline.

My Hot Take: McDavid is like Jokic in that he doesn't even like hockey. He's just really effing good at it.

My Bold Prediction: McDavid strings the Oilers along this season and walks to UFA.

I don't know for sure, but he scored a lot of goals out of the right face off circle, which was his sweet spot on the PP in his first couple of seasons before becoming the middleman on the PP this year. As far as transition and line rushes, he had plenty on the right side, especially when Pavelski was still there. That's why I doubt it would have any effect on his offense. The question is how is he defensively on the right side.

I just really like his skill set, shot, stick handles, hockey iq, and willingness to go to the front of the net. If he becomes available, I would love it if the Flames could find a way to bring him here. The guy is a real beauty, and I would love to cheer for him than against him for a change.
