Sens deserve to be where they are in this game at this point with their undisciplined play.

Maybe just me but there’s definitely a difference on the US broadcasts.
When the Leafs went up 2-0 Simpson implied that it was all over for the Sens.
Then OTT scores and the discourse is totally different. Maybe the Leafs won’t cruise on so easily.
Maybe I’m too nitpicky after all.

Playoffs kind of a dud so far, many teams seem completely overmatched.

I didn't think the Leafs would be contenders when they overpaid for their deadline acquisitions vs their peers, but truth be told is Dallas, Carolina, and Florida look totally beatable. I'm personally predicting the Leafs lose in the final. They've been pretty consistent this year vs those aforementioned teams. Even Washington is totally beatable. I think they Leafs will make it there despite Matthews and Marner still playing a no grind game in the playoffs.

My gut feeling (totally scientific!) is that the Leafs go deep this year

Sens look overwhelmed, and not very physical.

this has got to be a pretty deflating first game for the Senators. Not a ton of playoff experience, so we will have to see how the veterans help these kids deal with the loss. They seem to be unravelling pretty badly in this one and not much sign of changing momentum.

It's funny but the Sens simply lack skill. Sure there's Stuzle, but they really need more. Tkachuk isn't it, as he's the muscle. They simply attempted to add veterans too quickly. Pinto, Batherson, Sanderson, and Couzens right now seem like solid 2nd and 3rd line talents but that true high end talent is lacking night in and out. Tough position to be in.

I dunno. Ullmark ended the night with a .750 Sv%. He's not helping them out with a big save now and then. You need that if you're a young team finding your way in the playoffs.
Ullmark's career regular season Sv% and GAA: .917; 2.55
Ullmark's career playoff Sv% and GAA: .887; 3.59
He's never been a very good playoff performer, despite being on some very strong Boston teams. He's not changing that narrative so far in Ottawa.

Round 2 will be a tough matchup for them if they make it...Sens played right into their hands the vetran Florida teams will not

Leafs leading a diving clinic. But sens massively overmatched, leafs don’t need to dive to win. Ekmann Larson with an Oscar worthy performance. Matthews too- looks like he dropped his purse on that one hit.

Darn, smurfies might be for real this year.
Which sucks because Brad Tree-dicking deserves no cred.

Puck off a skate and in, 1-0 for the Leafs. Reminded me of Coleman's no goal a few years ago, they didn't even look at this one.
