to me, that's a kicking motion, that's the most kicking motion I have ever seen on a goal
and then they disallow goals where the player just turns their skate to direct it
this one actually had a skate in the air, which is what the rule is intended to not allow

They were talking about intent. I thought intent was irrelevant. A kick is still a kick regardless of whether it’s accidental.

Mixed feelings on that allowed goal. On one hand.. that isn’t kicked in??? Definition of it. Flames got called back on WAY less. On the other hand- deboer lost a goal challenge. Eat it deboer you smug pr*ck.

It's almost like they are not looking at the kicking motion per se, but which team is doing the motion. The refs just pretend to be looking at the iPad, then talking to each others say: It's the Flames, so it's kicked in.
When are talking to the command center,
ref: It's the Flames who score with his foot, so it automatic kicking, right?
command center: Yup!
