There was a time that Tampa Bay had Ben Bishop, and he was incredible, regularly posting sub 2.5 GAAs and Sv% over .920. But they also drafted Vasilevskiy, you know, just in case.

Chicago had 2 young studs in Belfour and Hasek, but they did not get a haul for Hasek when they traded him for Stephane Beauregard and a 4th round pick (Eric Daze). A cautionary tale.
Kirill Zarubin may very well be the Flames goaltender of the future, but that’s probably five years down the road. Sergeev can certainly be a good organizational depth goaltender in the meantime and he’s still developing.
as old minds do, I went to Riggin/Lemelin out of the gates, but does look like Riggin played a bit more of the lion's share than I remember those first 2 years
He carried Penn State to the Frozen Four. Easily their team MVP

When you have guy's like that in the locker room or on the bench it keeps it positive and not so serious .
Kipper was hilarious. I mean comedic funny as I've been told and heard from Alumni players like Regher, Lowry, Commodore, Retro, Noodles and even Sutter knew Kipper had a quick Witt about him.
Recently learning so much about Lomberg and his injection of positive in the locker room and on the bench. It's cool . He really contributes more than we see in fights and chirping.
If Huberdeau learned anything from Barkov he'd try being that more as Weegar is extremely well spoken and Captain material IMHO .
Happy to hear that he signed. I was worried that with Wolf being anointed as the #1 with the kind of pedigree that he has, that it would cause Sergeev to just look elsewhere. Who knows what he ends up being in the end, but he is definitely tracking well. Heck, he may end up being Calgary's starter down the line somehow, as we never really know what can happen. Organizational depth in net - and everywhere else too - is great to have.
You take the guaranteed money and either play your way onto the team that drafted you, or some other team by being good enough to be wanted in a trade.
I think the only people that have not figured that out are fans and a very very small number of entitled players.
