I like how the Avs forget how to score goals the one game we needed them to just do what they have always done all year. St Louis Blues are having some insane run, they will probably win out this season and get the 3rd spot in the division at this point

Also the really negative posts are not "realistic" Flames are 4-1-1 in their last six not 0-6 and the 1 was a robbery

One of those bad California teams, the Ducks are 8 points back of the Flames, have a goal differential 5 less that Calagry and are as good at home as the Flames are on the road. They aren't that bad.

I don't think the negative posts are about Calagry playing poorly, it's about their playoff chances.

Is it a negative post to suggest their playoff chances are decreasing?

I do think saying they have zero chance is negative though. Of course they have a chance, it just been decreasing over the last few weeks.

8-2 would be optimism. Unrealistic but not impossible.

10-0 isn't optimism, it's delusion.

This is a message board for a professional sports team. Aren't we all a little delusional in our own right?

"Win or loss doesnt matter season is a write off"

"Backlund will say they need yo play the full sixty, men vs. boys not watching"

Are the posts we are talking about, like what is the point?

The 10-0 post was obviously a response to the "doesnt matter" post. Nobody realistically expects 10-0.

Although Blues fans likely werent expecting it either..

Yeah, its like 60/22 give or take was the norm. Everyone commented on over-playing Kipper.

The biggest problem with Kipper was that he needed it. He needed a run of games to get into his groove, if he was off for a bit you could tell, that guy needed games constantly.

I bet, some were think the same thing about the Blues at the trade deadline,

last 9 games, they are 9 and 0.

Of course the playoff percentages are low for the Flames, its all about games remaining, points behind etc...

Completely random thought, is this the Flames first ever 3 game road trip where they haven’t had to change time zones?

It could be. This scenario may have happened with the Coyotes in Phoenix, Arizona when it was Standard time.

Unfortunately 4-1-1 wasn’t good enough as they had to go 6-0-0 to keep pace with their peers. Once you start calculating your playoff odds based on your team winning every game AND requiring your competition to go on a losing skid you’ve entered delusional territory.

Start of a 10 game losing streak! We can still get to a lottery spot!

The sad part was that even though Kipper played 72 games, there was a season where backup goalies won a combined 0 games that year.

Flames skaters just could not win at all when Kipper had the night off.

That's not to say that Kipper went 72-0 though, but putting in the backup was pretty much a guaranteed loss.

Same as last 20 years, I have no confidence this team can or has ability to make achieve something when it's matters.
