A nice home stand here would really help.

If only we had players who would consistenly:
(a) actually shoot the puck rather than passing it around looking for a perfect shot;

(b) get it on net, not 1' wide most of the time (like the last PP);
(c) not blindly pass the puck right in front of our own goal;
(d) trap the puck at the blue line on the PP.

Some of the above they do some of the time. Just not consistently enough.

I hope they can come to an agreement on a fair contract for Rasmus. I feel he would be great to have around when Parekh comes up. Zayne has that cockiness and agitator edge to his game from what I've seen of it. I saw a fairly recent clip where he scored then slugged a damn on his way to celebrate. Teams need guys like that.

Needed vintage Sharangovich and last game's Kuzmenko tonight.

Felt like they had a lot of chances to put a quality shot on net and ended up making most relatively easy for Thompson. A lot of effective rushes and cycling which is great but doesn't do much for you when you don't make a dangerous scoring chance out of it.

On a couple of plays Thompson did get lucky too.

I don't know what they can do given the injuries. But they needed their best shooters to throw some elite quality shots on net if they were going to beat this goalie, and they didn't get that. Can't fault the effort though.

Man, that Protas kid is a mutant. 6’6 225 with 93rd-percentile top speed and 86th-percentile burst speed according to NHL.com. Need to get Klapka sipping whatever potion he takes!

I've gotta say - I've liked what I'd seen from Bean in the previous games, but tonight he was not there. Multiple pucks fumbled at the line that lost a ton pressure in the O-zone.

Damn, Flames deserved better on this one. I thought it was a great effort against arguably the best team in the league. Granted, I am sure they were experiencing some road lag.

Stupid penalties killed us. Lack of finish of course too.

Can they please stop putting Backlund on the PP? He makes terrible decisions and just doesn’t have the vision to make plays on the PP. save him for the hard minutes and PK.

I’d much rather have Kuzy, Barrie, Pelletier, Kerins out there instead.

Kuzmenko, Barrie, and Pelletier don't play centre. Kerins could replace Backlund on the power play, but I'm not sure about doing that with a kid who's only played a handful of NHL games.

If you want to see a better power play, you'll probably have to wait until Zary is back in the lineup.

If nothing else tonight, it was fun to see Ras make Wilson look like the man-child he really is, Wilson is just a 9 year old in a 30 year old's body. He never matured mentally past atom...

Well if they needed offense, Kerins was probably your best bet of all the kids to provide that.......

Just saying.

Pelts, Kerins and Shaggy had something going for a few games there.

Country club attitude for a team that is only where it is at because of sheer hard work is hilarious. I don’t know if people could handle an actual rebuild

Kerins doesn’t have the foot speed to log big minutes right now. He’ll probably be up for another call up at some point but he isn’t the saviour
