If Barrie had to come in for someone, I'd rather Bean be out of the lineup rather than Miromanov.

It's so wild to me that Jake Bean is at or near the top of some people's doghouse list.

IMO Bean >> Hanley > Miromanov this season

And I really dislike Hanley

Anyways, I've got OV scoring a pair tonight. Wolfs gonna be a little caught off guard by the all time scoring leaders shot.

I'll be at this one.

So...if you see someone on TV in a Jagr jersey unapologetically eviscerating a pocket dawg like a Polar Bear with a family of seals...that'd probably be me.

I’d like to see ovi break the record tonight. We should pull our goalie the whole game. See if he can get 21 goals in 60 mins. At some point would he intentionally stop scoring so as not to make a mockery of the achievement?

I'd be Hanley > Miromanov > Bean

Based on prevention metrics, and who they've had to play against.

That D gets thin in a hurry. I really wish they could get a kid in there to grow some chemistry with Weegar. Solovyov or Grushnikov ideally. Kuznetsov might fit as well.

Miromanov was getting walked the last couple of games. Barrie isn't some kind of defensive genius though.. so it's kind of a sidegrade

Penalty killing is an issue. Barrie isn't really that guy.

Scoring has been an issue. Barrie can help create some offence, but Klapka isn't that guy.

Kind of odd choices really.

A defensive defenseman and a goal scorer would have made more sense.

Hopefully nobody else gets hurt (knock on wood). With Bahl out, I thought it really hurt the Flames last game, though I am sure some of it was being tired. Bahl has become a huge (pun intended) presence on the backend this year. An injury to Weegar or Andersson, and this team will free-fall I think. Hopefully Bahl gets back in sooner rather than later (though not rushed until he is healthy).

I am not sure i prefer Barrie over anyone else available, and that includes Miromanov or even Solovyov at this point, but he signed here, but all accounts has been a great guy in the room and not making an issue of anything, and he should be rewarded. Hope he comes out and plays well. Barrie and Klapka both score, with Ovi and Mangiapane replying for the dark side. Andersson gets the OT winner and really stares down a Caps fan for the win.

What? I have Hanley much more solid than Bean. Bean is just a nightmare in his own end when he is pressured.

Would have been ideal to see what we have in 1 of the younger guys in the farm. Doesn't make sense to rotate Hanley and Barrie here, you sat Barrie all this time anyways. We need to see what we have in the system.

Yeah, I'd say Hanley has been good for the last while. He's really picked up the quality of his game. Before that he was down there with Barrie & Bean in terms of terribleness, but last 2 months he's been night & day better.

At times he's even arguably been the Flames 3rd best D-man during some games.

I see the same thing as you. I've made comments in game threads about how terrible Hanley is playing back when he was getting into the lineup like once every 3 weeks. But in his recent run where he's playing every game, I've seen some noticeable improvements in his game and he is no longer terrible and actually sometimes, quite steady.

I actually think the same is happening with Miromanov. Sporadic game action is not a formula for these guys to play well.
