This is what I love about Vancouver Island...I've been there probably 20 times in my life and yet there are very few places mentioned above that I've actually heard of. You couldn't see it all in a lifetime.

Granted I typically have been in the Comox Valley area...

Not Vancouver Island, but close...HIGHLY recommend "Savary Island". Been going there for about 6-7 summers. Tricky to get to, but it has literal white sand beaches for the majority of the island. Barely even looks like Canada. Google it if you haven't heard of it.

Looks nice but for $4,773 for 3 days I could go around the world.

It might not be your thing, but I've often seen intrigued people surround fishermen, crab fishers and people digging for shell fish. If it's something you'd consider interesting, cool. If not, that's cool too.

I'm joking.

It might be something we look into.

But something that never crossed my mind, thank you.

If you are near Nanaimo I highly recommend St Jeans Cannery if you like seafood. Their smoked oysters are out of this world.

There are some cave tours up island.

Hornby? Maybe?

I’d suggest Telegraph cove way up north but they just suffered a catastrophic fire that destroyed a bunch of the village, multiple structures lost unfortunately.

I did this salmon fishing half day charter with my kids a couple years ago, and it was such a cool experience. https://islandpursuitsportfishing.com/

The kids were catching 20 pound salmon every 5 minutes in a couple spots. And it made for such an amazing view of the islands.

Default Vancouver Island

Last summer, I took my family and we had an outstanding time whale watching in the Strait of Georgia and saw a whale breach right off the stern of our boat, sea lions, seals, sea otters in their own kelp beds, and the views of VI on our return trip from the Race Rocks area were incredible.

There’s some phenomenal hiking in a rainforest, which is inside the Morrell Nature Sanctuary just north of Nanaimo. This area is beautiful and absolutely breathtaking. The trails are really well maintained and some signage that is super helpful and informative.

What a small world , we are looking at a 2.5 acre property adjacent and walkable to Little Qualicum Falls
