So fans are allowed to throw things on the ice and the refs don't blow a whistle? Only in Edmonton...

The good news is there are a lot more people that hate the Oilers after this most recent whine fest.

Listening to DeBrusk and Michael's is so annoying. They spend more time bitching about the officiating than they do calling the game.

NHL, you gave these garbage chucking losers the McDavid pick after three other first overalls. This is on you.

Because they are the most entitled fan base in all of professional sports. They feel like they are hard done by. They feel like they can do no wrong. They do not believe in accountability and feel like their hero McMuffin was wronged.

God..I so disagree with this.
The game is softer than it has maybe ever been in history. There is so much done to protect star players from head shots, hitting from behind, hooking, slashing...heck, even the player's sticks are protected from being slashed and broken now.
The game is still a contact sport, and sometimes in contact sports a star player gets pushed around a little. Hell, it happens even in non-contact sports like basketball.
The strategy of roughing up McDavid only works in the last 10 seconds of a game where he cant then hurt you on the power play. It's an exceedingly rare occurrence in the overall amount of game time that McDavid is free to dive and draw penalty after penalty to help his team win on the power play alone.
Go ask Eric Lindross if the NHL does a good enough job protecting its star players these days. I'll bet he has an opinion because of his shortened career. You should know, being a Devils fan and all..

Edmonton shot counters are only hurting Skidder's numbers.

Protect their stars from what? Playing defense? Was he overzealous and deserved a penalty? Yes. Is there anything there that the 'stars' need to be protected from? No.
Get a grip.

That Protas is quite the player. Doing quite well on Washington, despite only playing 5 on 5 minutes.

Exactly. This narrative that the NHL doesn't protect its stars is ridiculous. They have eliminated, or mostly eliminated almost every type of dangerous hit. And forget having a goon try to intimidate a 'star' - never happens and wouldn't be tolerated.
How often are stars getting injured? Answer: not often, and less than ever before.
McDavid cross-checks another player in the face, and suddenly there's an epidemic of stars getting attacked!

I watched the third on Washington's feed. It was so nice not having to listen to those whining homers.

Lol a PP to close out the game.
Classic Oilers home game management. You're really going to help them after all the childish antics? Ok then.
A little window to a McDavid-less Oilers team, can't muster 3 goals.
