That was one of the fastest lifetime bans I've ever seen.

Soooo, was the suspension because of trolling or hawking the VPN?

Is it? Does anyone believe that you should "hire" one hockey player over the other based on their race/religion, even if to promote diversity.
The only way I see that happening is for promotional reasons. For example, if you lived in an area with lots of X people, then maybe trade or draft a player from that background to bring out more fans. These would be players already at an NHL level though.

More people of all backgrounds should send in their resumes to apply for a position on the Flames.
In all seriousness, the most recent draft was the most diverse I've ever seen. Whatever encouragement for minority communities to be involved in the game at the grassroots level is working.
Also, as Canada's population becomes more diverse, its only logical that the backgrounds of people playing the game becomes more diverse over time.

Sweet. Whats that got to do with Ethnicity? Like what? There are no Arabs/Lebanese people in North America that can afford to play hockey?

I think the OP had some weird intentions with the thread... and now they have a lifetime ban, so I wasn't the only one thinking it.
An actual discussion of diversity in hockey is a different thing.
On that note:
-The greatest Flame of all time has Nigerian heritage
-Our top prospect has Korean/Indian heritage
-Our top 2 scorers have Lebanese and French Canadian heritage
-Our budding superstar goalie is American
-Our caption and longest serving player is Swedish
This team is doing pretty good.

Yes. If they’re the best available talent for the position in question.
Diversity is great. Talent is better.
