All I can get
After being a perennial and rich resource for memery over the years, it'd be kind of funny if the Flames claimed him.

Couldn’t be any worse than Kuzmenko. That guy has completely disappeared. I’d been inclined to waive him.

Edmonton definitely didn’t do him any favors.
It was the same with Yakupov. He was a beast in junior and the consensus #1 OA pick by most sources. He looked like a can't miss prospect at the time.
The fact Yakupov and JP had their best NHL seasons in the first couple of years after going pro suggests to me that the problem was player development rather than being bad picks at the time. They came into the league with the skills to play but couldn't learn what they needed to justify the ice time required to produce more. Yet their whole careers up until that point, they were able to keep improving. It just stopped like hitting a brick wall as soon as the Oilers drafted them.
It's the same story with a lot of their prospects, but some at least were able to improved once they moved on.

The moment his career was doomed was saved 8 years ago.

Is he better than Duehr and Klapka?

Sadly it didn’t win post of the year in 2021.
We really should have a thread to quote post to throughout the year and have a vote at the end.

Can we swap Kuz for him?
I think he has character.

We have much better guys to step in than JP. Unless you are talking trade and not sure why the Penguins do that.

He'll likely pass through given he's on a two-year contract. Cheap or not, it's a bit of a commitment.

It’s almost criminal to throw an 19 year old kid with zero English into the NHL With no help. Who was his roommate? Who looked after him?
Maybe if they didn’t have captain that was 20 years old at the time.

This was my exact response.
Oilers spoiled the Pool Party.

He would go unclaimed? Then what? May as well just sit him.

Duehr and Klapka don’t even make half of what Kuzmenko makes if you combine their salaries; play wise sure maybe it’s a wash, but klapka and Duehr are much closer to earning what they’re getting paid than Kuzmenko is; leagues apart.
