OK, but Wolfomycin is known to cure everything but the galloping Dallas.

Their struggles together prior were maybe overblown too.

22-23: 515 minutes; 54.5% xGF; 51.9% GF (27-25); .978 PDO

23-24: 198 minutes; 53.0% xGF; 43.8% GF (7-9); .972 PDO

Last 5 games since being put together in the 3rd against Pittsburgh: 60.4% xGF; 50% GF (4-4); .926 PDO

They've never actually been terrible tougher, The underlying numbers have always been pretty strong, but they have some PDO issues together

I think they should just keep them together now, the lineup tends to slot better when they are together too

TBF, they ended up -1 tonight. Mostly on Kadri IMO. But if they get their offence going, the benefits are greater than the goals against.

They tend to get no goaltending results when they play together.

In their three seasons together as Flames they've played 800 minutes together at 5v5, have 53.4% xGF, but only 48.7% GF (38-40) due to a .890 5v5 save percentage which is pretty bad.

Even these last 5 games, they have given up 4 goals against on 2 xGA because of a .818 save percentage when on the ice together.

Some of it is they do tend to give up a higher quality of chance together, but some of it has just been bad luck / poor goaltending when on the ice together

I agree with most of your posts but Comparing Huberdeau to Thornton or Jagr is kinda silly. Those two changed their game because they were in their late 30s and had to adapt to stay in the league, and they were smart enough players to do so. Not because they were 30. At 30, those players were still dominant top ten type players. I don’t know what changed Huberdeau’s game but it wasn’t aging. Probably comfort and security in the long term deal at 10.5/year for 8 years.

Thornton changed his game pretty early on in his 30s, so did Jagr. As for your reasoning on Huberdeau's decline, that's sheer guesswork based on zero evidence. I'd guess it has more to do with him finally figuring out what his linemates could and couldn't do.

Or maybe Huberdeau was never a star or at least at their level

Just a guy that put up a lot of points for a couple seasons and fell back to earth. He is not capable of carry the team like the other two.

No one is saying he's as good as them or ever was. Just that they changed their games and so is he apparently.

4 seasons well over PPG before age 30 not to mention an 85 assist season which less than 20 players in history have done

And Thornton at age 30 had 2 or 3 monster seasons and otherwise was PPG.
