People keep saying that and it's a weak excuse. Under the Sutter system and Huska which is a slightly modified version of it Huberdeau has gone from an 80-100 point player to a 40-50 point guy. Kuzmenko can't find the net and he is an excellent offensive talent. Coronato and Zary are great young talents and while Coronato has been going decent Zary is being stifled. This team has not scored more than 3 goals since game 2. Teams with way less talent up front are better than that. The team can't score and he plays guys like Hanley and Bean ahead of Barrie who is no worse than Bean defensively and is one of the best pick moving D men in the past 10 years. The team sits 30th out of 32 teams for 5 on 5 scoring. This roster should be middle of the pack offensively with this lineup. Without Wolf and Vladar giving them top 5 goaltending the team is probably bottom 3 in the league.

Isn’t that what people want a bottom 5 finish for the next couple years?

To what extent is the top-5 goaltending a reflection of the system?

I don’t see how Huska is making Kuzmenko miss and Bean has been way better than Barrie.

You are vastly overrating the offensive talent on this team imo. And yes, without decent goaltending they would be much worse off..........because they are a bad team.

Barrie hasn't played much, how can you possibly say that? Huska makes Kuzmenko ineffective the same way he does Huberdeau, everything funnelled back to the point and you get in the dog house if your focus is not making sure you are ready to get back instead of trying to create offense down low. The numbers don't lie.

So you think this team has a vastly worse offensive lineup than San Jose and the New York Islanders? Ya, ok.

Barrie has been terrible in the games he played and Bean hasn’t - that’s how I can say that. And the numbers are the numbers but they don’t say anything about system versus players.

A guy like Kuzmenko isn’t evidence of anything except his own inconsistency. He was just under PPG in Vancouver the season he was traded. He’s a little under that this year and has been playing a lot more on the periphery.

Bahl has gotten two penalties where he was just trying to make a play. This one was just a collision.
