Pissed away at least one point. Too many O zone penalties. The defence went to sleep mode tonight. I lost count how many break aways were allowed by the Flames tonight.

The worst team lost to the bad team. Battle of Ass

I'm suggesting at that point in the game the entire job of the coaching staff is to ensure everyone knows what they are supposed to do. That didn't happen and they took a bench minor and the small chance jey had for a comeback was scuttled.

I don't care who the coach is, a bench minor at that point in the game shows he players were not made to understand what they were supposed to do.

Pospisil’s penalty completely changed the momentum in the 3rd period. I get the high stick wasn’t intentional, but the Oilers will do everything they can to get a free penalty. Not like the refs were calling anything on Kadri for that matter.

Mantha was good tonight, the biggest reason we got two goals from his net presence and screening Skinner. Like what I’ve seen from him, just inconsistent (but who isn’t on our team).

Almost got the comeback goal, just couldn’t get it in the net.

Our tops scorers are probably defensemen

That stat is nonsense

Despite all the breakaways and grade A’s Vladar faced, apparently Skinner had the tougher night

Professional hockey players don't need instructions from the coaching staff to be aware that only 5 skaters are allowed on the ice. It isn't the coach's job to personally handle each player coming off and going on, to ensure that it goes smoothly.

Like, come on.

Leaving Draisaitl all alone in the slot 20 seconds into the game was quite the game plan. Flames fought hard but were chasing the entire game. Tough way to play.

The O zone penalties are a frustrating thing with this team and very reminiscent of Sam Bennett. I guess the lesson is that we should be patient with the young guys.

The most disappointing thing for me was seeing the Oiler fan take over of our building and they get to leave happy.

Yeah, crazy to think at the most important point in the game with emotions high that the coach should be counted on to help his players stay focused and understand their assignment.

  • The Oilers are such an unlikeable bunch.
  • Kelly Hrudey you should just marry them already.
  • How is that team the Stanley Cup faves, making a meal of a rebuild team.
  • Just why, perennially, are the Flames so bad with a man advantage. Like statistically you'd think they'd improve at some point.

Pospisil costs the Flames again. When’s he going to do something useful?

Oiler fans will be a river of emotions filling an ocean with tears when they don't win the Cup this year.

So many people from Edmonton move here.

It's like if all the people who fled North Korea insisted on wearing shirts with a picture of Kim Jong Un on them.

So again, you think he should have told whoever jumped on the ice prematurely, that they shouldn't do that - in advance of it happening?

That's what you think he should be doing, with 2 minutes left in a game they are down by one?

"Johnny, Billy, Timmy... remember - don't jump on the ice until the guy you're replacing comes off!"

Coaches can't micromanage guys coming off and on the ice. The 6 skaters didn't notice, but I am sure the bench noticed, but what can they do at that point? They can't yell for a player to come off or the refs will notice, so all they can really do is hope somebody on the ice notices before a ref does.

I think it would be Huska's fault if this is something that happens OFTEN. He would then need to address it. Once in a blue moon? Definitely not something I would blame him for.

Bahl has been really solid all year, and continues to get better. For a 24 year old, he is looking really good, and the sky is the limit for him.

We also got a 1st, along with Bahl - the trade looks pretty damn good, to me.

Disagree he’s been a good get in addition to the 1st rounder we’re getting.
