Its the agent playbook now...every single team has it happening...some teams have next to no media coverage though

It's annoying. Be a soldier. Play well down there, keep a good attitude and you will be called up, no doubt about it.
Be a discontent and you're going to get shipped out. The Flames and more importantly Craig Conroy only want those that want to be here for the betterment of the team. This has been stated time and time again since Connie took over.

Well, technically they 1 (a shoot out win) - 2 - 1 over their last 4. They haven't been bad in games, just segments. I am not outraged, just also not ready to believe unless they can come out and do what I suggested.

I'm getting very tired of not being allowed to find out what he's made of because people are too afraid to make a decision and stand by it. I haven't seen anything from Wolf's career that makes me think he needs the constant threat of replacement in order to be good. In fact, I get the sense it's the opposite with him... he thrives more by actually being the guy, not by fighting to convince people that he could be the guy.

I don’t really understand this take at all. The split is 50/50 and they’ve been trading games since the start of the season regardless of performance.
The decision has been made and they are standing by it. I predicted an even split before the season started, so I’m not surprised, and I guess being surprised is fine, but it seems absurd to try to turn it into some situation where they’re scared of making a decision just because you don’t like the decision. Boston did the same thing with Swayman and Ullmark for the entire season last year.
There’s no threat or need to prove himself to get starts. Wolf knows when he’s starting, which, until the plan changes, is the game after Vladar starts. He knows when he’s not, which again, until the plan changes, is the next game after he starts. That seems to be the case regardless of how either guy plays.
It’s not even November of his first full NHL season. Seems wildly premature to be “tired” of not finding out what he’s made of because he’s played 4 games instead of 6.

Wolf has been objectively the better goalie, and I do believe he will eventually take the reigns this season, but unless one of them actively starts losing them points, I am good with the near 50/50 split for now.
If somehow they are in playoff contention after US Thanksgiving, or Christmas, then you start riding the hot hand a little.

They're just splitting time. I dont see anything to be upset about.
If anything, I'm happy that Wolf isn't getting the Lion's Share of the starts.
Our Defence is Brutal!
Our Goaltenders are seeing more rubber than Vietnamese hookers at the fall of Saigon!
They have to share duties! One guy can't shoulder all this. So it just makes sense.
You dont want either of them to get terribly discouraged, they're both playing well and it seems like a fairly equitable split thus far.

Still hoping Vladar ends up with more starts. A 50/32 split seems fair to me.

He won't make it to #1,000 games in the NHL. He's going to be sent to Russia after tonight's game.

This is the thing.
I'm fine with that too, its the kid's first year.
But if he earns the starts? You give him the starts.
You want to be an NHL #1? You gotta get used to the workload. Nobody says you have to do it in Year #1.
Thats on coaching. They'll make a call.

Respectfully, I think the idea that this is happening because the coaching staff feels there's a need to create a constant threat of replacement, is just how you feel and not how the coaching staff sees things. There's nothing unusual about a young goalie in his first season where they're fully in the NHL for the entire season, to not be the starting goalie, regardless their projections or status as a prospect.

Objectively?
(minutes, goals against, GAA, S%, record)
Wolf...: 241, 11, 2.74, .924, 3-1-0
Vladar: 242, 11, 2.73, .904, 2-1-1
They have played almost identical minutes and have each given up 11 goals. Both have stolen games, their records are almost the same, and their GAA is almost identical. The only difference is that Wolf has seen more rubber, which shows up in his S%.
I actually thought Wolf had his worst game of the year so far, against the Jets - lots of big rebounds (that Vladar would get crucified for), and 2 bad goals. He lost the puck on the 3rd goal - goalies are taught to turtle into their net when that happens, precisely so it doesn't hit them in the back and go in. And his angle wasn't terrific on the Perfetti goal - from my seats, I was basically looking right over Perfertti's shoulder when he shot and there was lots of net to shoot at. Again, fans would have jumped all over Vladar for that one.
So I am not sure 'objectively' is the right word.
They have both been terrific, and both continue to deserve their starts. A 50/50 split is perfect for now. If one goalie demonstrates a a superiority (in more than 3 games), then the coaching staff can look to change the ratio. But for now, nothing is broken here, and goaltending remains the brightest light so far this season.

Will be interesting to see if Wolf starts sunday against Edmonton. It seems like recently Vladar has gotten the Edmonton games, plays them quite well

Bean sitting back to back is pretty weird considering he's been pretty good.
Huska is fine as a coach most of the time but sometimes he just throws in this really questionable decisions.
Only really makes sense if Bean is nursing an injury, so maybe it's just that.

I also think it's very hard for fans to evaluate dmen particularly watching on TV. You just don't see things like gap control on the small screen. So much of what a dman does is happening away from the puck and play.

Coronato's agent putting the 'controversy' to rest.
https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/nhl...7c3608f3&ei=29
"I spoke to Craig Conroy and there is no controversy - we have confidence Matt (Coronato) will earn his opportunity and we trust the Flames will do the right thing for Matt Coronato."
