The defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers won their season opener 6-4

The Calgary Flames won their season opener 6-5 in OT.

By simple logic, the Flames are the second best team in the league!

Wooooo! What a beauty by Zary! Him and Pospisil continue their unexpected success from last season. Honzek looked strong on his skates and composed with the puck, awesome to see. What a comeback after a disastrous opening 10 minutes.

What a comeback!

A beauty by Zary.

Mantha with a great start with the Flames. A SHG, a Gordie Howe hat trick, what else can you ask for?

Bahl was solid, I really liked that pairing with Andersson.

Huberdeau is a PPG, which is great to see. I liked his effort on a lot of the plays tonight.

Gaskal, back to the salt mine!

The Flames score more goals than the Leafs, Oilers and Nucks combined.

Canucks could use a coach like Huska that actually can inspire the troops. Great comeback by the good guys.

What's better than an entertaining as hell game from the Flames, with a boatload of positives?

Edmonton giving up a touchdown and an egg

Flames came all the way back on a team with the best home record and the Oilers lost 6-0. Is this real life???

What a fun game!

Mantha was good tonight - Gordie Howe Hat Trick

Way for everyone to stick up for one another too. Really hope that Rooney is ok.

I am not sure what season this is - is this the 2013-14 season, or is this the 2014-15 season? These come-from-behind wins - these character wins - can dramatically turn a season around.

Win or lose, this will be an entertaining season. I think this team will be a lot more fun to watch!

Huberdeau looked good tonight and had some fire in his game tonight. What a beauty finish by Zary! What a fun game! I have no idea what Huska said during the 1st intermission, but this team really turned it around from where i thought it was heading to - and embarrassing Oiler-esque type of game.

What a win! That OT goal was a beauty! Love Pospisil. He makes things hsppen.

Other than the first period, this team is fun to watch. No quit.

Third best. First place goes to the Jets for curb-stomping the Oilers 6-0.

E=NG always takes priority!

Talk about winning through some serious adversity.

Canucks gifted numerous PP opportunities in the 1st, as well as getting a goal when Vladar’s mask was off (I know the rule book but the whistle was NEVER in our favor in those scenarios in previous seasons)

If you go period by period we won the last 40 minutes and OT. Canucks are lucky to have a point on the board.

I love winning more than being a lottery team. Just keep drafting well where you’re slotted at the end of the season. This team reminds me of the 14/15 Flames, let’s keep proving the naysayers wrong.

OOT scoreboard was pretty damn nice too.

Imagine losing to this version of the flames lol. Even notable defensive legend and future hall of famer Gustav Forsling couldn’t stop this offensive juggernaut

Hahaha what a game. Always a fan of a hard working team. Hopefully they stay in games and get a great draft pick this year.
