What a dumbass. He edits it twice and neither are much better.

It's pretty simple. Just put:

"14. The Columbus Blue Jackets will win the 2025 Draft Lottery. It’s the only consolation prize on a brutal year, but hope and help is on the way. Bananas that the Blue Jackets have never won the Lottery."

He's too busy gushing about the overrated Oilers I guess.

Yeah I don’t think he meant it with malice but it’s just such a dumb way of putting it.

Come on guys, it’s much better now. Instead of saying Gaudreau’s death will help them be terrible, he’s saying it’s an Angels in the Outfield situation but instead of angels helping Columbus win the Stanley Cup, they’ll still be terrible but the angels will help them secure a top three pick!

How sweet. Much better.

Dumb maybe, but not ill intentioned. We know what he meant to say. We should expect better from someone that writes for a living but its not like he was trying to make a bad joke or anything. Just a poor choice of words.

I'm not a Seravalli fan and there are lots of things to dislike about his analysis, but hating on him for this is not one of them.

Complete overreaction IMO.

Agreed entirely. I posted without giving my proper thoughts. I don't think he meant it in a malicious way. But very poorly worded, and I'd expect better from someone who makes their living of doing this for a living.

Frank is an Oilers loving edgelord who doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt in my opinion, but I understand others who feel differently.

He is a massive troll. He can't get hits on his crappy webpage without being a troll.

When people talk about respected media members, do you see any insiders in any of the sports acting the way he does?

Could you imagine Bob McKenzie acting like this?

It's not just his Oilers love and trolling. He threw a tantrum during covid, writing a letter that he has since tried to get off the internet demanding access to the locker room. The leagues all moved to press conferences outside with distancing, but for some reason he needed to be in watching players get changed.

So that's it though right?

I wouldn't do it, but I guess I don't see it as big of deal that some are suggesting unless I'm missing something (reasons I outlined are enough to now do it, or at very least have it caught by editors).

Hoping not to get piled on ... just don't see it as quite the abomination that some are suggesting.

I thought it was "a lot insensitive" primarily because it was so recent but YMMV.

Even that's dumb; I think it's fine to invoke a person's name that has passed, but pick your spots. The nhl draft lottery isn't one of those times. Frank continues to be a turd
