Maybe a combination of both.

With every game, the Hurricanes are looking more and more like they might be for real.
Adding Smith for Meneghin, a great goalie but they were winning without him anyways, was a tidy bit of business.
17yo Dman Will Sharpe is really taking a step so far too. And it's early but McCutcheon looks to be ready to light thigs up finally as a 20yo giving them a solid three D offensive threat along with NHL drafted captain Noah Chadwick.
And they've got some solid scoring threats up front too with Marques, Wormald, Edwards, Smith, Braillard, Pakkala and Gizowski.
Too bad high bantam draft pick Dayne Bueker left them hanging for the US program.
Big game vs the Hitmen tonight.

Tigers still having trouble with the Rebels, it's gotta be in their heads at this point. At any rate, they bounced back last night against the Pats.

Tigers come back from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Hitmen in a shootout 4-3 tonight. After a 1-4 start to the campaign, the Tigers have gone 7-2.

McKenna with a goal, an assist, 11 shots on net and the shoot out winner.
He assisted on Carter Cunninghams 1st ever WHL goal in the 1st and quickly retrieved the puck for his team mate.
He now sits a top the WHL scoring race with 23 points in 14 games.
He's still just 16 years old.

I guess it's okay to allow five goals if you score 10 goals.

I was speaking with a friend of mine who lives in Columbus, Ohio and he tells me that Cayden Lindstrom resumed skating this past weekend. The Jackets are being very patient with him, but hearing he's back on ice is very positive news.

It'll be very disappointing if we don't get a chance to see this Tiger team in it's entirety at some point this season. Hopefully him back skating is a sign he'll be able to return soon.

Tigers blow a 6-3 lead and lose 7-6 to the Canes. Lethbridge is 8-1-1 at home so far.
McKenna with another 3 points, still leading the league in scoring.

Tigers with a couple short handed goals tonight but the Canes have been resilliant all year. This can't be sustainable for them though as they are riding their first line.
Nice ovation for Meneghin coming back, however I still see the Tigers as the favourites in the Central if they can figure out Red Deer.
Either way it's a fun way to start the season as I hope the Canes can continue to get some support. This was a little bit of a larger crowd for a weeknight game but still not normal for a Highway 3 rivalry game with the leagues best player in town.

McKenna with 4 assists tonight, good for 150 career WHL points.
He's not even 17 yet lol

Do you know if he's been playing C or W this year?

A winger turned C like Misa or he is going to be a winger in the NHL?
If we can get our C this year, it's not a big deal he can be our Kucherov.
Misa - Misa - Mckenna

I just don't know if the Flames are going to be bad enough to have a shot at McKenna in the 2026 draft. Of course, there's a chance, but Wolf alone might drag the Flames high enough where some incredible lottery luck would have to fall on Calgary.
