Sure. Players are probably annoyed by Eric Francis—that seems likely. But the claim was specifically that after players have left the city they have also continued to publicly mention him specifically as one of the reasons why they are happy to be out of Calgary. As if Eric Francis is is such a prominent media figure in the NHL with such a notorious reputation that players actively seek to get away from him by getting away from Calgary.
This is flatly untrue. It has no basis in fact. It's nonsense. It's misinformation.
How do I know this? Because Eric Francis is not special. There is AT LEAST one Eric Francis in every NHL market, if not many more. Players know this. Whether or not they are annoyed by his questions, they are also keenly aware that it's part of the job—a part that DOES NOT CHANGE with any market. Why would they claim about Eric Francis EVER, when there are literally hundreds of reporters just like him that every player has to deal with?

Mark Spector, Gene poodle Principe, David Staples. Leon hates them, as does everyone else.
Reporters don't drive players away from the team.

I doubt that anyone actually "hates" Gene Principe. Most players probably just feel sorry for him, or think he is weird.

On the topic of actual line combos and such, it's really interesting to me that they have Gridin starting with Morton and Stromgren. I'm increasingly wondering whether there's a chance he starts in the A.

Actually his sister tweeted about it after he wrote a piece for SN about Gaudreau. I am not sure how to find the tweet but I do remember it was to the effect of trying to run him out of town.
It picks up in this previous thread here

So yes, there actually is evidence out there.

Just stop. It’s embarrassing.

Well in their defense these guys have to interact with a lot of different personalities and it can get awkward. Especially when the subject has the I'm here but don't really want to be here vibe for the interview right off the bat.
It's natural and taught to break the ice with some meatball questions. Maybe leading with how was the first skate or how was your summer is a better choice.

He should play in the AHL, he is too good for the Q and would learn way more play in the A

Please?
Embarrasing that that guy is allowed anywhere near the team.

What specifically is embarrassing about him?

I would've thought he'd get waived to start the season to get some time.under his feet. Not going to help him starting him with 5 games at the start of the season

I firmly believe a Chicago or San Jose will take him on waivers.
You will risk losing him if you waive him.
Pelletier - Rooney - Lomberg is a good 4th line IMO. Duehr is 27 and likely has no future with this team beyond this season, no reason to start him in a 4th line role.

Duehr is almost certain to be on waivers, and will clear.
