That’s great, but it doesn’t mean anyone has to like his work.
It’s not like people are trashing him as a person.
People criticize players for their play on here constantly. And most media members for that matter.
Announcers are off limits?

So should we show the same respect to David Staples, Gene Principe, etc etc? They could also be viewing. By all accounts Gene is an amazing person but we collectively tear him apart. Genuine question by the way. I'm sure Willis is a good person but his pbp his so dull and boring

MMF is the tough as nails cop that "plays by his own rules". The force keeps suspending him when he crosses the line but he keeps coming back and then cracks a big case.

Kind of ironic how experienced he is yet I have no idea who he is. Maybe I pay alot less attention to commentators than I had initially thought.

Going off of the clips, I'm pleasantly surprised. He doesn't have a grating voice, and also doesn't seem to be making it about himself by adding needless flair. That's basically the approach that made Rick Ball good.
I guess we'll have to see how it goes, but so far, it looks like a good hire to me.

I never do quite get the personal hatred and vitrol against anyone on this board. A simple, I am glad they went with Jon over Wills would have been a fair comment. It is when some posters like attack the individual or post that they are trash which really makes me angry and the reason I only casually look at this site. The same hatred for players is also off putting in my opinion. Everyone deserves respect. Fully expect to be trashed after making this comment which would just further my point. I love CP for the awesome takes and the awesome comments of many of the posters here. There are some whose whole purpose is to illicit the hate and fishing for reactions that makes me pause on my time spent here.

I’m really surprised how much people care about this decision. Seems like a first world problem.
Good they got someone. Although I could watch with dead air and I bet I’d be fine.
